What if the reason Xavier is like never brought up again is because he got turned into a relic. Like it probably makes zero sense timeline wise but I have free will.
because Jason confirmed that the relics that the divine warriors used were all people they were close too. The only known example of this is Shad and Irene’s daughter being used for Shad’s relic. But Irene’s sister lived long enough to carry on Irene’s bloodline so I don’t think she was used for making Irene’s relic. Maybe Irene used Xavier. Maybe Xavier volunteered. Maybe he didn’t. Maybe he was used for someone else’s relic. Idk man
okay cool, can I request Irene and xavier(?) from the divine warriors time?
I always imagined them to be platonic/familial, and also Zane as this devout guard who wanted to protect this powerful goddess in the making
anon i need you to know that this took me out for two. entire. weeks. whatever overtook me while drawing this was strange and i liked it
divine warriors loredump!
so yeah, the divine warriors! admittedly, i'm fascinated by them - i rlly rlly wish that we'd gotten to see more of them + their powers/domains/abilities in mcd, especially considering that they're a driving force behind the plot. so, i've gone ahead and done some redesigns for the sigils (above) and expanded on the domains and abilities of the divine warriors within the context of ashes, ashes.
more under the cut!
PART ONE of a MCD headshot page collection - DIVINE WARRIORS & CO., AND MAIN CAST. for rewrite reference and also enjoyment :3

Xavier the Admirer lies before you! Be blessed! Be Protected.
Give him a blue cornflower for possible extra treat points
Just kidding I made that up...still...he would totally appreciate that...
YIPEEE!!!!! BEST POSSIBLE TREAT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Um as a treat back how about a Xavier headcanon?
Im building Brightport in minecraft and it happens to be right in the middle of a huge field of poppies, so I headcanon that to be his favorite flower.
Poppies have some rough symbolism, and mainly symbolize sacrifice, blood, death, and the futility of war (since poppies used to sprout in the trenches of dead bodies during WW1).
When I write Xavier, I always have him make some sort of sacrifice, and in my main mcd writings (My Alchemy Au where Shad turns SKs into nether mob hybrids) he gives up his physical body to become the heart of darkness to keep Shad invincible as a creaking heart does for a creaking in game. This connects him to the poppy symbolism.
If you've seen my Xavier mc skins though, you may wonder why he wears cornflowers in his hair instead of his favorite, poppies. This is because in my hcs cornflowers are abundant in O'kasis, and remind Esmund of home. So, Xavier wears them in his hair so Esmund can feel a little at home around him.
After Xavier joins Shad in the nether after the war of magi (again in my Alchemy Au), Esmund plants poppies on the grave they made Xavier, assuming he was either dead or gone forever like Shad.
I love angst and I love Esxavier, what can I say lol.
i wanted to ask, what are ur top three headcanons of xavier, if you have any :3
omg hi thank you for the ask!!! sorry i didn't respond sooner, i suddenly got so shy and psyched myself out but here are a few of mine:
My biggest headcanon, that definitely influences all my other headcanons is that Shad...is Xavier. And the reason that history doesn't remember this is the same person is because so much time has passed and the remaining Divine Warriors vowed to never mention Xavier again after his "betrayal." (its kind of a Anakin and Vader situation, they feel like drastically different people but those who were close and know the real story know that these two men are one). I randomly thought of this over the summer and have never been able to unthink it and i think it's really fun idea that I've been rolling around in my head every since. (plus I think it's a fun parallel to Laurance's arc so its extra evil to me mwahahaha).
Ok with that in mind, because we're talking about the Divine Warriors, I think all six of them had magickal abilities, just some more obvious than others (Irene being the strongest, Esmund being the weakest). I think that this common characteristic initially brought all of them together and then they began a common motive (helping the realm). So, I think Xavier's magickal ability is something like magical absorption and transfer. To the untrained eye, it would appear that he absorbed and neutralized a magickal object or element of nature. This could seem very destructive and dangerous. But someone who understands magick a bit better (an elf or a witch) would know that he essentially just drew the magickal energy out and expelled it back into the world. With more practice, Xavier could neutralize powerful objects (which could, unfortunately, cause explosions or fires) and eventually transfer magickal energy from one object into another. Xavier would learn more about his magickal ability after meeting and training with Irene and Enki, but it would have taken him a bit to trust them with his secret, because he initially thought that his magick was too dangerous but he really learned to love it. (it's sort of the reverse of Irene's ability to draw magickal energy to heal but its has a very common foundation.)
Xavier's biggest accomplishment and legacy is the creation of the Jury of Nine (Jo9). My headcanon is that Xavier used his magickal ability to create a magickal object (like an amulet) and intricate ritual to grant a group of people temporary powers to became the best order of knights to protect Irene and the realm. This object was a sword that gives the wielder (the commander) the ability in a knighting ceremony to grant knights/guards magick to join the Jury order. Its grants temporary increased strength, speed, and invincibility. But it also can be removed, to ensure their is no long-term harm. This sword was Xavier's obsidian blade and was passed down from commander to commander for over 900 years. The last user was Zane and when he disappeared into the Irene Dimension for 15 years, he essentially ended the Jury because the commander position could not be passed on and the Juror guards magick could not be removed so they could retire (and many went mad with the power).
Xavier's founding of the Jury of Nine was monumental but he wanted to be very careful about ensuring the power didn't mentally or physically corrupt or harm anyone. However, Enki and Irene used his concept of granting more magick through powerful object to begin their research into the Relics. (ouhhfgueoejhgh <---the sound of my heart exploding, i hurt my own feelings)
on a more lighthearted note, some happy headcanons:
I grant Xavier the beautiful title of being a "Horse guy". He just seems like the kind of guy who loves horses. being of a noble background, he was raised around horse-riding and proper horse care. The other Divine Warriors would be like, "lets teleport to our next location" and Xavier would instead offer to find and tame 6 wild horses for them (they usually didn't agree). I am someone who notoriously hates horses (they scare me) but if he were to meet me in a tavern and I randomly mentioned the fact that I don't like horses, he would spend the next couple hours to explain why horses are cool and try to convince me to give them a chance again. I then would go on with my life thinking about the random stranger in a tavern as "the horse guy."
Him and Esmund were the best dancers of the Divine Warriors. Its the only time Esmund lets Xavier take the lead besides in bed (omg who said that).
his favorite color is purple and blue (i wonder why...hmm) but he wore red and white in honor of his family's house colors.
Xavier snores unless he's sleeping outside on the ground
His favorite food is veggie and cheese sandwiches (a common streetfood in O'khasis and Scaleswind). He grew up kinda rich, so he loves commoner food.
so yeah, just a...few thoughts of mine...
