I got pissed that only Irene got cool features when she used her powers and shit so here is cool powered up forms of all the DW for when they use their relics (Xavier is here for emotional support)

Irene is a wyvern (with minor dove inspiration), Shad is a vampire bat, Esmund is a wolf, Enki is a mountain goat, Menphia is a black jaguar, and Kul’zak is a ferret

if someone else uses the relic they would be a species of the same genus or family (<- haven’t confirmed this with the other person, just getting my ideas out), for instance: Aaron would share traits with a honey badger when wielding Kul’zak’s relic, Garroth would share traits with an African Wild Dog (subject the change if I think of a better fit) wielding Esmund’s relic, and Zane would share traits with a maned wolf (“The maned wolf is not closely related to canids found outside South America. It is not a fox, wolf, coyote, or jackal, but a distinct canid; though, based only on morphological similarities, it previously had been placed in the Canis and Vulpes genera.” - Wikipedia)

Been working on the concept for a fic where the heart of darkness meets all of the DW descendants/present day representations and it spawned the idea of Shads mind being so fractured he struggles to discern past and present and that's why he keeps seeing Aphmau as Irene.

Like the scene I originally was working on was Travis and Garroth joining Aphmau and Katelyn for when they first meet the heart of darkness in the elven forest and the heart says something snarky like "What, was Kul'Zak too busy to join you in your gloating?" And then he proceeds to respond to them as if he is partaking in a completely different conversation that Aphmau and co are trying to have with him.

Stuff like them asking what his motivations are and him responding with "You know why I started this war, don't mock me like this." Thinking that he's in prison before they banish him after defeating him during the War of the Magi instead of a random cell.

Idk, just an interesting concept that could kind of parallel Irene losing her emotions, Shad loses his perception of past and present.
