His name was Xavier. So it was this universe's version of him. He always existed, like some sort of plague or disease in her existence. It didn't matter what dimension it was, if Julien entered it, he flourished out thin hair. Like some fucking cockaroach. She batted her long lashes at him. He wasn't suppose to be there, but he was and she lured him closer with the smallest show of skin. Xavier had always been like a moth to her flame. The psychic lured him further into the showers with a flirtatious smile and a beckoning finger. "I knew you had a thing for me." It was funny how men liked to justify a pair of staring eyes. It always equated to attraction. Never hatred. The blonde smiled when her back hit the tile. He leaned in to kiss her, but she put her hand in the space between their lips to kiss the back of her hand instead. Her perspective of him was different now that she had tasted her solider's mouth. She touched his beautiful features with all of her fingers. His skin was smooth as a new born. His smile was as charasmatic as ever, but she knew no matter the universe, the place, the time, he would be the same. He was a control in a world full of variables. Julien had seen his explicit thoughts of the female cadets. The things he wanted to do to them. Things she had felt first hand. He put his arm above her head, as he leaned in for a kiss again and she let him. She breathed softly into the kiss, a dark red essence flowing out of her as it wrapped around his tongue and shoved deep into his throat. Xavier halted his kiss as that same deep dark red began to ball up behind his pupils. "Je savais que vous étiez faible (i always knew you were weak)." The blood vessels around his eyes began to darken, and turn black as blood began to cloud the whites of his eyes. She watched him crumble, like he was made of soemthing like sand. She leaned down to touch him lightly as she watched him suffer. It was nothing compared to the long list of torture he always had in the back of his dim little mind. She pushed back his blonde hair. In some way, they almost looked like siblings. Brother and sister. Dark eyes and blonde hair. She leaned foward as her influence began to edge back up through his mouth. In it's center was something darker than her power and she took it in her hands as it engulfed in flames. The fire burned bright and the fume was black, like it was made of poison. The psychic breathed it in and began to break the red of her power into the softest gold. She blinked her brown eyes. The rings of power lingered around her pupils as she pushed her hands into his body. The world turned like it was suddenly on her head and she took him to the darkness that she wandered in her nightmares when she was a child. She could see herself, as a little girl, lost, looking up at the ash molten skies as tears streaked down her face. Julien turned his body into an effigy, a burning man, a slave to her younger self to light the realm between the living and the dead. She could never save herself, but she could try to help the other variations of herself. She touched her throat where scars were beginning to fade. They were just a little less prominent and she dropped through the ground to smack down into tile. Julien laid there, bleeding out of her nose and ears as her vision wavered. There was darkness lurking just in the corners before the brightness of a flashlight blinded her.
The blonde jolted awake. Since her unscrupulous and simply disrespectful dream she had started sleeping at the edge of the bed with her hand dangling over the edge to grip the cool metal of the cot. She touched the scar above her left brow as her body remembered the pain. It was an axe. She remembered clearly the expression on xavier face when he cast his shadow over her. She was only 19, naive and desperate for any scrap of affection. He was a serial killer with a dark fascination of her abilites. He pushed her over the edge of death and tried to keep her there. She was his pet. His favorite. His brown eyes almost looked black like that of a demon’s. She felt the weight of his foot as he stepped on her to keep her still as he pulled the metal axe embedded in the front of her forehead. “Man, that’s gonna scar.” It was such a slow motion that the pain of taking it out was worse than the infliction itself. “It’s a good thing you’re so fucking pretty.” He had taught her that screaming made things worse. Xavier made them so much worse. He had conditioned her to resignation and quiet suffering. She could feel his touch. His cold fingers. He was only human, but he was a monster. Julien rubbed her forehead, feeling the warmth of the blood spreading over her skin before she realized it had reopened. She hissed under her breath as she sat up. For once, the lieutenant was asleep and she gazed over the dark haired solider. She couldn’t imagine ryan suffering. It was hard to imagine the other felt any pain at all despite knowing and feeling the very real volume of it in her visions. It wasn’t exactly remembered with accuracy. Memories always insisted things were better then they seemed. She moved from the foot of their beds to touch the other lightly. Her blood stained ryan’s skin and she withdrew her fingers to sit up in the middle of their beds before deciding to lay her head against the side of the lieutenant’s calf like she normally would. She closed her eyes to push away the old nightmare.
The blonde looked up at him and she smiled as he leaned in to kiss her. She loved him earnestly and with the little she knew of love. “It’s not gonna hurt.” Julien knew even if it did. The brief sting of a needle would be nothing compared to the euphoria that followed it. She had met him only a month ago while taking photographs of her hometown. It was about 389 years after her birth and the city was alive with technology and music that touched the darker corners of her intellect. She liked the grunge of the era. It was as if they had brassed over technological shine of the decade in search of something more genuine than impersonalization and wide spread of the popular practice of hiding behind screens. He was beautiful and he made her feel beautiful when he snapped a picture of her when she turned her camera to him. Like all dreams, it was pleasant. He took her around the town to show her where he had grown up, but he was as alone as she was and she took his hand under the impression he knew how to love her like he loved his things. “You’re really pretty, have I told you that?” He asked as he pushed the needle under her skin. It wasn’t her first time using. Cocaine was all the rage and heroine was in the cough syrup of her age. The syringe emptied out and the world got lighter. She used the same needle on him, like the blood bonded them. His thumb smeared her dark eyes. “You never answered my question.” She smiled, moving her head to lick the side of thumb and chose silence to make him angry. Julien clearly remembered the first time he hit her. On some level she knew it was desperately wrong. On another, she figured hatred and pain was a fine line they walked. He loved things violently. She wanted to be loved too. She put the syringe aside and he smiled. He knew her game. “You’re a fucking cunt, you know that?” Julien shrugged as she took in his pretty facr, “so are you. Beautiful I mean.” It took so little for julien to find something to admire in someone. Their strength, the way they carried themselves or their eyes. Eyes were the window to the soul and his eyes were so dark they were almost black. He was the edge she was too afraid to go over in her youth. After stabbing her mother hundred of times, she figured they weren’t that different. Her dark brown eyes always looked just a little bit darker when he painted them up. She bit his thumb, making xavier smile from the pain, and he bled into her mouth. There was always some interest in the change that she witness when he saw blood. He was like an animal, or maybe he was a monster? She was still too close to see clearly what he was.
She opened her eyes under the water. She could still feel the weight of the cement bricks he had tied her to. There was no air in her lungs and she didn’t struggle for it. Instead, she focused on the bricks. They began to break under her concentration and blood began to stain the water as she looked up at the ceiling. Breaking away from her binds, the blonde began to emerge from the water. It dried on her skin like it was red hot and she stumbled as she walked. Xavier sat in his favorite seat in front of the television. He doesn’t hear her over the soft, fascinating click of his shot gun as he polishes the outside of the barrel. It isn’t until he pauses, like he has a sixth sense, that he notices her. “Oh, hey, you’re up.” Her iris expands, deep red as she stares him down. He smiles because she’s mad. He takes up his gun, he points it at her, square in the chest, and makes a firing sound with his mouth that almost sounds child like. Phew! It echoes when he laughs. Julien can’t see beyond the red of her own rage. He pushed too far. She points two fingers at him like a gun, and it’s her turn to make the game go on. She doesnt. Instead she begins to point it at herself and his eyes spark alive with a red glow as he turns the shot gun on himself. “Julien– what are you doing?” She doesn’t answer as she forces him to arrange it at his foot, his toe on the trigger as he puts it in his mouth. “Julien–” he says it around the barrel of the gun as he looks at her. He’s confused. Something has gone array with his game. She blinks. She even sheds little tears for him, because deep down she loves him, but he doesn’t love her. He never could. She breathes deep and her thumb clicks down with the synchronized sound of the shot gun. She slows the moment just to see his spirit leave his body. Julien captures it, because she learned her lesson the first time. Walking away from his dead body, she finds the heart shaped box he gave her that still had a lock of his hair and she binds it. She brings it back to his body, and she figures in some way the notion is romantic. She adjusts it in his body’s arms as she exhales. The box catches fire and she can hear his spirit scream. “You bitch! You fucking bitch! You bitch!” The blonde can’t help but roll her eyes as she begins to spread the fire with her touch. His spirit screams, it demands and she twists her wrist until it breaks to make the box go up completely in flames to destroy the little left of him.
