She was scared.

Why wouldn’t she be? They were trapped together  in a tight space with no obvious means of escape.  Her body was as stiff as a board as she buried her head into his chest and listened to his heart picked up speed. 

It took all of her self control not to panic and the only thing that was keeping her sane was the familiar feeling of his body pressed up against hers. 

His presence meant safety and she was trying to hold  onto that. She needed to hold onto that.

                                                    “Finnick…”

      Finnick had never been a fan of tight spaces. He       was comfortable out in the open, with a clear view       of the horizon and the salty smell of the ocean.       But clearly, evidently Annie was worried. And he       wasn't going to fuel that fear, even though he was       getting nervous, too. She needed comfort, not his       worrying. And he wasn't going to make this worse.

      Steady hands pulled her closer to him, resting on       her back lightly as he put his chin against the top       of her head. One hand moved up to her hair, in       what was intended to be a soothing gesture.

                             "Shh, it's okay, Annie; I'm here. I won't ever                                let anything happen to you, okay? We'll be                                okay. I promise. Nothing's going to happen."
