Yesterday was our first “meet” of the season.
Due to Hurricane Irma our meet was moved up unexpectedly and so we went in knowing we weren’t going to be racing having had one of our toughest workouts of the year thus far the day before.
Instead of racing to see who could cross the line the fastest and risk injury we tempo ran the whole thing.
We ran TOGETHER.
All SEVEN of us.
And despite coming in last place it was one of the best bonding experiences we’ve had as a team. We worked together, had positive talk through the race, and finished all within 1 second of each other smiling as we did.
I’ve never seen my coach happier.
