"A Kink in Cognition" is now available. This paper introduces acentrism as a theoretical and practical departure from human-centred models of art, perception, and interpretation. Its method is parallel signal literacy: the capacity to sustain attention across co-present signal systems without reducing them to a single interpretive order.

Xenosis is an acentric reading practice, not conventional divination. A clearer articulation: as Oracle, I open the passage, receiving the signal through the card draw. As Reader, Kenji Siratori ( @xenopoem) deciphers its behaviour into xenopoetic form. The separation is essential: the Reader remains outside the draw, the Oracle remains outside the deciphering. The card functions as a threshold artefact, suspending the signal until decipherment makes it transmissible.

From there, relational logic becomes a wider practice of reading, in which signs become legible through one another. Neither Oracle nor Reader completes the process alone. Xenosis exists where reception and decipherment meet.

Interlocution is one of the structures that gives Xenopoem Conference its form. It creates a second movement in which the work continues after presentation. In this format, presentation is only the first appearance. The dialogue carries equal weight.

For that reason, interlocutor pairings are not disclosed to presenters in advance. This keeps the dialogue live and less governed by familiarity, expectation, or pre-negotiation. The aim is contact under pressure, where the work is carried further, tested, and set back into motion.

This year’s interlocutors bring a rare range of knowledge and modes of attention to that task, spanning literary theory, experimental writing, posthuman philosophy, neuroscience, molecular biology, editorial work, and more-than-human literature. Each has been invited because we believe they can meet the work with precision, force, and openness. We are proud to welcome them to Xenopoem Conference.

Xenopoem Conference is an experimental transmodal platform for works that alter perception and open contact with signals and processes beyond the familiar human frame. It brings together practices already active at those limits while remaining open to stranger forms still coming into view. This year the conference is built in two movements: presentation and interlocution. Each work is followed by an exchange that keeps it in motion. In this format, presentation is only the first appearance. This makes Xenopoem Conference distinct: interlocution extends the encounter, sharpens its pressure, and allows the work to continue operating beyond the limits of its initial form. We will say more about this second movement in the next update. The 2026 programme brings together audiovisual mutation, numerical lichen-poetics, fungal ritual, cryptobiotic AI environments, videobody transmission, nonhuman weather systems, impossible landscapes, sonic recombination, and distributed winter ecologies. Each presentation approaches a different edge. Together, they form a constellation of threshold encounters. We are very glad to welcome this year’s presenters to Xenopoem Conference.
