They are so cute whenever they're not thinking about their past romance friendship. And when they smile, but that is so rare coming from them that they do no longer even try.
I love them, I hope they don't end up like strangers barely recognizing each other on a train station one cloudy saturday-
I'll do Kenna bc she's been haunting my dreams (karma ik).
Her favourite fruit is probably mangoes. And she dislikes strawberries and pretty much every berry with all of her heart
She was homeschooled until seventh grade (aka around 12 years old). At that time their parents starred to believe in an actual school system and it had nothing to do with a diploma in the Convallaria's wall.
She bites.
Is the kind of girl with hand-painted mandalas on the walls of her childhood room.
Her favourite artist is something o the likes of Rabbitology or IVE.
Her nails turn gray in the cold.
Once tried to dye her points violet. Kyri told her she looked amazing before her mother cut the entire thing.
Contrary to popular belief, she dislikes visiting museums. But she likes the gift shops.
Because we are days apart from the life of a showgirl realease, this is
WHAT EVERY SINGLE TTPD SONG EVOKES FOR ME (5/31).
This is talking characters from media I like, fanfics by other people, original works from mine and general life vibes. All that have grew on me since release. So. Long text here i go
Note: I reinterpreted many songs that might be romantic into a platonic relationship because I can. That's it. Live with it.
Spoilers for Star Wars, Underworld Office, Charlie in Underworld and two of my original projects.
1. Fortnight as Leroy and Evline.
Leroy and Evline are two characters that spawned on my mind on January 2024 and refused to leave. They are two brothers that are fated to grew apart and end up in completely different positions, where Leroy has power but no will over it and Evline has no power yet a very loud voice. They are both manipulated into wanting to get rid of the other while they're keeping deep love for the other.
So. Fortnight evokes a lonely Evline after committing a big mistake, ps walking around the places where they grew up and seeing with clearness how they both hurt eachother and how, even though Leroy did something unforgivable to him and he went one step further, he cannot bring himself to hate his brother. "I love you, it's ruining my life" quite literally applies to the misery that Evline feels in his soul.
2. The Tortured Poets Department as a Kyri Convallaria and Kenna Hart.
These are two ocs from a story called Xeroba, where they both go to encounter death itself (the Tanda Amara) so it can rewrite their lives. Throughout the story they kinda date and they constantly fight and bicker and make fun of the other while holding feelings.
The song is about a long time relationship that never actually get serious and the parts see their bond as some legendary tragic love story, but is nothing but childish love. They both have to grow up and (in this case) one will simply not. So. I imagine them walking through the valleys and cliffs of Xeroba, thinking they're THE modern legends while they're actually looking for death for it to fix their lives. Like idiots.
3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys as Padmé Amidala.
STAR WARS MENTION 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Padmé and Anakin's relationship can make me talk for hours. I don't know what to say to convince you that this song is her's other than "go listen to it".
BUT HEAR ME OUT:
"The voices on (Anakin's) head called the rain to end our days of wild (literally join the dark side, taking the path she cannot follow)". "You should've seen him when he first saw me" as literally the whole Episode II, their plot is that they want to get together and it's a feeling stronger than any norm. "I'm queen of sandcastles he destroys". No comment.
"Cause I knew too much, there was danger on the heath of my touch. He saw forever so he smashed it up". The Revenge Of The Sith. That's it. Padmé going to get him with the help of Obi-Wan is what ultimately leads Anakin to the dark side, as Obi-Wan is literally THE DANGER. Padmé and Anakin HAD FOREVER IN FRONT OF THEM, she was pregnant, they were married. And yet he didn't trust her enough to believe she wanted the best for him.
Note: on the demo version of the song Taylor makes a few small changes to the lyrics and that specific version reminds me of Leroy and his romantic interest Aurembiaix. He doesn't kill her dramatically but she does bolt the moment their relationship gets too real. "Said forever then (she) blew it of" as she literally promises him they will talk about their future the night before she runs away.
4. Down Bad and Eugene from Underworld Office.
I will literally break down some lyrics for this BUT BEFORE. The song uses an alien abduction as metaphor for a brief and magical relationship that ends up abruptly and leaves the narrator in a "fuck you all I still want to be with you" mood. The narrator is Eugene and the alien ship is the office, this takes place on Chapter 4 of UwO.
"Did you really beam me up (...) showed me this world is bigger than us, then sent me back when I came from?" Is an accurate description of how Eugene felt after being denied the entrance to the Underworld. He is even some sort of experiment if you think it enough, as mortals should NOT be constantly separating his body and spirit just for the sake of it. He's is the wrong result.
"For a moment I knew cosmic love" being he getting the recognition he wanted, knowing he's been helpful for a bit. He got what he wanted and then it got away.
"Everything comes at teenage petulance, 'fuck it if I can't have us'. I might just die, it would make no difference". For starters, Eugene's reaction is apathy to the mortal world as he desperately looks for what he did wrong (a very childish attitude tbh, he literally asks Joan to tell him without evaluating himself). Then, this is the part of the game where he puts himself on danger just for the sake of it, he jumps into action knowing the possible outcome of him dying and his thought process is "well, this is what I have to do to prove myself I am useful".
"Down bad, waking up in blood" (I interpreted this as his nightmares). "Waving at the sky, come back and pick me up" again, he being obsessed with getting back at the office without making the reflection needed for it. "I might just not get up, I might stay down bad". I mean. Didn't he skipped school right after?
"Just to leave me here (...) in a field in my same old town that somehow feels so empty now? They'll say I nuts if I talk about the existence of you". For the first part, there is literally a dialogue on how the same streets look empty after being with the office. Second part, he censoring himself when talking to Luke.
Idk. Listen to the song. It's pretty Eugene core.
5. So Long, London as Charlie in Underworld.
We are in a roll aren't we? Song is about saying goodbye to a long term relationship that had been feeling wrong for a long time now and it's been slowly dying until the end becomes inevitable. On this I will center on the last part of the song (please remember I made this platonic please please please)
"Just how low did you think I'd go 'fore I'd self-implode? 'Fore I'd have to go be free" This always reminds me of River and how she was literally trapped with the office and big part of her containment is sugar-coating the world for Eugene. This line sets the mood for me.
"You swore that you loved me but where were the clues? I died on the altar waiting for the proof" I get this more as a "you swore to help us yet we kept hurting" and that in itself being the lack of proof. Of course I know Boss was not a complete asshole, still his actions and lies ultimately destroyed his found family via omission.
"You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days". So. In the CiU tmi one of the creators said that Boss didn't knew at the start that he was lying but he did chose to keep lying both to save them the suffering and to save himself the agony of seeing them part. The memory of his darkest days create a path-dependance on how the story plays out.
"And I'm just getting color back into my face. I'm just mad as hell because I loved this place for so long" THIS IS EUGENE. Chapter 6 is him being mad at Boss, taking a stance that makes him indubitably maddest both at Boss and at himself. At the end of the game (Charlie in Underworld ending) he literally gets his spirit back into his body and gets his colours back after spending seventh chapter in black, as if mourning. Which is understandable because he spent from 6 to 10 years with the office and trusting Boss, he gets to mourn whatever he wants to.
Also the last chorus uses the "stitches undone" bit that to me represents a wound reopening after a long time. To Eugene would be the comeback of the mirror nightmare and the crippling shame that accompanies it.
"Two graves one gun, you'll find someone" is again Boss and River. I don't know how to explain it, it's just them.
i hope anyone reading this liked it just a bit. These are just 5/31 songs on the album so. I have work and many ideas. Pray for me to actually write them down.
Today I had a vision: Kenna Hart, fallen star of Gara, prepping her sisters for a festival. it's an old celebration to the Tanda Amara that goes on over the course of the nine days. Such a lugubrious holiday has been forgotten on most parts of the country, but not in Gara. Nothing is too old or too forgotten in Gara.
Kenna does the hair on the twins, Sidra and Ame, as Aruna helps Iriel intl his suit. These days all the Hart siblings seem to gravitate towards Kenna, filling her with questions about her school, her friends, why hadn't she come home until now. She does her best to answer in a sweet way, not saying her mother is trying to keep her as far away as possible, but she sees knowledge in Aruna's eyes. Of course they know. They've always known whatever is going on, no matter what.
— You weren't here for your birthday — says Idra, melancholy dripping from her lips—. Ma said you were sick.
That week she was free and already had the train tickets back home when her mother called and asked her to stay, for Aruna was in finals and she would've been a distraction.
— Yes, I'm sorry for that— she muttered, placing a heirloom pin on Ame's dark hair. A magnolia, just in theme with everyone else's—. I promise I'll be here next year.
— You're turning 20, right?— asked Iriel. She nodded—. Then it'll be a big party. I bet mom will invite all the townfolk.
— Kenns doesn't like big parties— Aruna quickly said. The oldest looked at her, trying to see their expression, but all she encountered was their short hair, like the one of a little kid—. At least not mom's.
— Is it true dad was better at it?— Ame always asked about their dad. She was three when he got sick and four at the time of the funeral and she always looked up to her older siblings to tell her about their wonderful dad. Kenna caressed her shoulder, lovingly, before talking.
— Not better, but he could light up every room— she answered —. From Foundation Days to town meeting. He always knew exactly what to say.
— Iri told us a big party from some years ago, do you remember it?— continued Ame, slipping into her yellow dress—. It was when Aruna opened her third eye, had the whole town talking about it!
Oh.
She felt her back stiffen and noticed how uncomfortable Aruna grew, standing up and quickly going for a glass of water, not making eye contact with no one.
Of course she remembered that party, it was the day she turned thirteen and it was a celebration for her. At least it was planned that way, just before Aruna woke up that day, scared as she had a nightmare. And then they discovered it: young Aruna just turned into the gracious angel of the town, the youngest kid to ever open their third eye. People came from all directions and the Convallarias presented their respects to the Harts, all while Kenna was hiding in a near mountain, crying because her younger sibling just gave her parents what she had been unable to. Magic. A potential heir while she was unable to conjure anything. It was pathetic.
— I remember a bit, but I got the flu that weekend — she muttered. Sidra looked disappointed. Iriel looked away, but he was too young to remember anything correctly anyways—. But I remember dad used some fireworks that night. It was like a thousands stars falling from the sky.
Yes, she remembered watching it from the mountain, the muffled sound covering the footsteps of Kyri Convallaria, who somehow found her. And she remembered how he silently sat down by her side and hugged her, as they watched what looked like a meteor shower on the horizon.
Kenna excused herself to her room. She needed to get ready too and her siblings were good to go find their mother down on the town. She'd see them later anyways.
Them and Kyri. Of course. There's not outrunning people in Gara.
As she walked up the stairs, she overheard Aruna. “I told you not to tell her that”. Right they did. But what use is it really? Nothing is never truly forgotten in Gara anyways.
