Death Warrents Retribution
The change in the weather was hard. Living in a place of such cold winters always meant that it's residents knew the ins and outs of staying warm. Ben felt as if he'd never been warm. He was always frigid, feeling like the tips of his fingers might turn blue at any moment, that his breath might freeze suddenly.
The tea room was warm, but every customer brought with them a draft of cold air. Ben fought not to look at his phone. It had buzzed, he knew it had, and it was probably Armitage. His boyfriend. Even thinking about it made him smile like an idiot. They'd been dating for a couple months now and Ben was so in love with him. He worried, of course, that Armitage was not as in love with him as Ben was, but every text quashed those worries.
Finally he was off and the first thing he did was check his phone. The texts made him grin. He typed out "Mind coming and getting me? I don't really want to walk home in this weather" followed by a kiss emoji. All he wanted was to sit on the couch, eat Thai, and watch movies. He'd never been happier.
