The Guardian had warned her. It hadn’t been much, just a low growl coming from the shadows, but at the time it had been all he’d been able to do. Away as he was from the being of darkness whose shadow he occupied and chained to this form, his options had been rather limited.
He had his orders, of course, so he’d vanished to report to Xemnas as soon as the girl had left the cell. She had been brought back. It wasn’t the outcome the Guardian would have preferred. He knew what it was to be a prisoner, he didn’t wish it on another.
But the girl was once more in the cell, and he was once more in charge of reporting if she ever tried to escape again.
All things considered, the heartless was curious. Most people had light and darkness in their heart but she was only light, and he knew that if he waded through his own memories, murky and confusing as they were, maybe he’d find something. He’d met someone like her before, he believed it, but this form, this existence of his, didn’t allow for much more concretion.
