I genuinely think Klee and the Dottores would get along so well. [NOT A SHIP]
Not just in a “haha bombs go brr” sense, though they can find common ground there for sure.
Klee is a child raised by the KoF found family, which, as sweet and loving as it is, is also bound by knightly duties. Klee keeps being locked up in her room, in solitary confinement, all the while the reputation of the destructive spark knight builds. Albedo and Kaeya and the rest of them do their best, but children generally need playmates that are their own age, and Klee just…does not have that. Even Diona is EMPLOYED and hence is always busy. Yea.
Now, Dottore.
[3.2 archon quest spoilers]
He has clones, and he has clones that are stuck at the mental and physical state of when he was a child. Maybe he’s spiteful like that, maybe he just wanted to see if he could do it, but he has them.
And Dottore, Zandik, was a child rejected by both community and later, the Akademiya. Though we can guess that he was somewhat popular in the academy, Zandik as a child had next to nobody. He was a genius far ahead of his years, yet with little notion of “right” and “wrong” and a confidence in his abilities that everyone around him would call arrogance. We can only assume those are the reasons he was chased out of his hometown.
Now, both of them together.
They are children with passions leaning towards weaponry and machines, both geniuses in their own right, and both in need of a playmate, or even just company. Where Klee is obedient, and would comply to solitary confinement orders, Zandik would have learned way early on that the opinions of adults who don’t understand aren’t worth the dirt on his shoe. Where Zandik’s social skills are in the pits, Klee would talk about anything, everything, there will never be a silent moment between them.
Zandik learns the singular worse thing than being ostracized—being ostracized AND forced to stay in confinement—and how to open his eyes to more than just his research and work. Klee learns bits of an ancient language of a forgotten nation, carved onto the bodies of ruin machines and their parts—and gets a lot of cool robot bits to play with.
One day they will make a giant, robotic Dodoco that can scan for fish and blast them.
Their arguments would always result in at least one crater, and when they work together, archons help whoever dares to try and stop them.
I think they should be lifelong friends. Buddies. Companions. Klee is very, very long lived, I’m 99% sure Dottore is unkillable so long as he keeps churning out segments. Age and erosion will never risk tearing them apart. In fact, Klee would gain a lot of…brothers? Uncles? Father figures? They’re all terrible at parenting for her and fight and argue all the time. The older Dottores might straight up see her as a potentially powerful weapon, but she would be irreplacable to the youngest Dottores.
I just have so many many MANY thoughts about them.
