Xichun flip flops between viewing Hong Lu as the coolest and just another sibling who doesn’t care at all at best and wants her dead at worst, with her parents showing absolutely zero care for her life.
Ryoshu’s relationship with her parents is the entire crux of Canto 9 and shows how abusive each of them was in some regard, though each of them did it in a different manner. She only really comes into the idea of siblinghood with Kira and seems to actually reciprocate it well.
Each of them suffering thanks to their parents (aside from Don and that’s circumstances and can be negative) and wanting out of their lives and desires for them…escaping it through one another…love them.
