i remember the front / recess space of my elementary school in china, we had to stand outside in a strict grid formation (everyone had their own spots marked by a dot on the ground) to salute while the outdoor pa speakers blasted the national anthem; everyone had to wear white shirts and black trousers with a red (or green, depending on what grade you were in) scarf... it was super fun to me bc i got to lead the class in our march (literally a military-like march!!) back inside to our classroom i was model student (':

i also played tag almost every single recess there with my first crush (and maybe best friend? i don't remember)

the space was all pavement, but in winter (it gets like -20 degrees there) one part of it would be turned into an ice rink for us to skate on

it wasn't poisonous tho and that species is rrrllly common in city sydney!! i've always been an idiot abt touching spiders anyway lol like when i was younger i used to find that species (huntsman) at school and walk around w/ them on my hands/arms to scare the other kids i was a total asshole abt it

I IMPULSIVELY BOUGHT THESE GLADIATORS TODAY WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO BUY COMFORTABLE EVERYDAY SHOES AND THEY COST A LOT BUT IM NOT REALLY WILLING TO GIVE THEM UP help
