how do you think marth and sheik get on??

MARTH && SHEIK’S RELATIONSHIP IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME- platonically && romantically. They were the first ship I had with one of my best friends/figurative sister years ago, that ship sparked so many more ships && thus I’ve got such a deep love of it, I can talk a lot about it AS YOU SHALL SEE NOW. Also I apologize for repeating words so much, it’s been a long day && I seem to have a slight problem articulating properly x’3
At first they wouldn’t be friends, not because they hate each other or anything, simply that Sheik would be a bit unsociable as he’d be uncomfortable straying too far from Zelda around so many new powerful strangers. He wouldn’t be able to relax from his role of guardian for some time, however he’d develop a bit of admiration for Marth through the occasions when he would be at Zelda’s side when she was around the Prince.
Once Sheik finally felt comfortable leaving Zelda I think that at first things might be a bit awkward between him && Marth simply because I don’t think he’d really know how to go about approaching Marth to be like ‘hey you’re pretty chill && I like your personality so let’s hang out or something’. Before the end of the Melee tournament however they’d end up friends, not best friends but friends at least.
Maybe they’d happen upon each other in the large gardens I headcanon the smash manor to have, perhaps they were both chilling out in the same room with a few others && ended up making idle conversation or something; no matter what I believe their friendship would start with them being comfortable, calm & relaxed, sharing easy little smiles && finding it pleasant speaking with each other.
From there their friendship would only grow in the Brawl tournament. Growing closer; sharing pieces of their pasts, seeking one another for comfort, making a formidable team in battle etc etc. Of course by then Sheik would have grown comfortable with others as well, obtained a few other friends, probably have gotten comfortable enough with everyone to keep his face uncovered.
By then, perhaps even before the end of Melee, Sheik would feel completely at ease calling Marth by name or a nickname instead of by title. I don’t see them being very affectionate or touchy-feely friends, maybe sitting close to each other && maybe now’n again giving a hug or falling asleep against each other (like if they’re sitting beside each other or something), but even though they’re both still kind of reserved && unnerved by being physically close with/to another person I think they’d find comfort in having one another near.
That’s just them being friends, I’m content && happy with them being supportive calm collected kickass best friends but I’d have so much more to write if I decided to also talk about their friendship turning romantic *w*
