Comment-Terry:
1. “Natural History is my hardest because Dr. Millbury uses lots of big words, but I like it anyway because I like animals. I got a B on my paper about finches. Dr. Millbury said that Charles Darwin wrote about finches too. I tried to read Charles Darwin once, but I understood even less of it than when Mr. O’Bradiagh made me read James Joyce back home. Dr. Millbury says that James Joyce is a degenerate—more big words—but I just think his writing is weird. I like Agatha Christie and C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien much better.”
2. “I’m the youngest one in the Advanced Danger Room class, but I’ve still beaten the Danger Room in the shortest amount of time of anyone because of my Siryn’s Song. I’m not at all looking forward to when Professor Deadpool finally puts in the sound-proofing setting like he’s been threatening. I’ll be getting into heaps of trouble then.”
3. “Music is my favorite class besides Danger Room. Miss Eliane is so pretty. She reminds me of my mummy. I can play six whole chords on the guitar now!”
4. “The best part of World History was when we learned about Greek myths, especially the sirens and the harpies. I liked learning about the ancient Celts too because I might be related to them. Mummy sent me a letter asking when we’ll learn about the French Revolution but we’re not there yet.”
5. “Back home, I’d never heard Spanish before except in books (like Don Quixote or Mummy’s books about communism) and that Pogues song ‘Fiesta.’ In New York, absolute lashings of people speak it, though, probably just as much as English. It’s easier to practice that way.”
6. I think Professor Logan wouldn’t believe me if I said that cheerleading made me better at fighting but Professor Deadpool probably would believe me. Sometimes he wears a cheerleading outfit to Danger Room class. I don’t know why because he isn’t part of the cheer team. Maybe wearing it makes him feel good about himself. I know that I feel good about myself when I wear mine. I think it would be pure deadly if Professor Deadpool joined the cheer team. He’s one of my very favorite teachers because he’s funny. (I also think he’s very handsome, even though most people don’t agree with me. I think he looks like the Phantom of the Opera which is one of my favorite books.)”
