Demencia With Other Mexican Cartoon Spookies
A celebration of spooky Mexican animation.
(You're confronted by a very familiar, very young figure. You try to tell yourself she isn't real, she's still gone, but she sure as hell feels real. And so do the tears in her wide, wounded eyes.) "Why haven't you come for me yet, Mama? Why did you leave me behind? They hurt me. They hurt me every day and I just want it to stop. Why did you let them have me? Why don't you love me anymore? Please, please come back. Please."
Xo takes off running, trying to reach out for their child they’ve been searching for all these months but feels almost an invisible wall and they drop to their knees as a animalistic sob escapes their throat. They don’t speak for a short time, trying to find the right words, any words to say. “Yaya, I’ve been looking for you for months. I fucked up, kiddo. I thought my world had ended. I tried to die so I wouldn’t have to live without you.”
They smash their fists into the ground, not bothering to turn their head from the dirt and mud splashing back into their face. In the oily reflection, they see the red scar that runs across their nose and cheeks and the dark tattoos that surround it. “I failed you, Yaya. Every time I think I’m strong, or smart, or fuck even good enough to save a child, that child ends up dead and I get the ugly reminder that I can’t even keep someone alive. Even living on the streets, you’d probably would have been better off if I didn’t stick my nose in other people’s business.”
Xo looks up again, the amount of tears matching the tears running down Yaya’s face. “I’m still looking for you. As soon as we get out of her I don’t care what kind of death mission that fuckface Queen is sending us on. I’m fucking finding you and killing whoever I need to, just to make sure you’re safe. And I’m never leaving you again, I promise. I love you more than life itself.”

going to splash down with satchel!!! yey
xochtil is sitting on the kitchen table
because heaven forbid this dog not be IN MY FACE AT ALL TIMES. so the table thing is not weird. what is weird are the sounds coming out of xochtil's ass/stomach region. i'm suddenly very concerned about the possibility of having to explain how a chihuahua ended up shitting on this table.
