August 20, 2021 - Fire-eyed Diucon (Pyrope pyrope or Xolmis pyrope)
These tyrant flycatchers are found in parts of Argentina, Chile, and the Falkland, South Georgia, and South Sandwich Islands. They are mostly insectivorous, hunting from perches and capturing prey in the air or dropping onto it on the ground. They build cup-shaped nests from sticks, lichen, rootlets, plant down, feathers, hair, and other materials in trees or bushes. Females probably incubate the eggs alone, but both parents care for the chicks.
