The 16th of September is Independence day in Mexico. It is a day for celebration and rejoicing. While Mexico may not have as big of celebrations as the United States does (then again, who does?) It is still a hugely important holiday.
It was Rex and Quetz's first Independence day while living in Mexico City, where the celebrations were the BIGGEST, tho Rex was just waking up for the morning.
Quetz, gently: mi amooor.
Rex: hmmmm...
Quetz: it's time to levantate. Wake up...!
Rex: hmmmm, Buenos dias, mi corazon!
Quetz: Buenos dias, mi amor!
Rex: what time is it?
Quetz: about 7 am.
Rex: pinche.... why are we waking up so early when he have the day off?
Quetz: the parade, mi amor!
Rex: ......que?
Quetz: mi amor! You know what day today is!
Rex: ......hmmmm....... September....?
Quetz: siiii.....?
Rex: .....OH!!!!
Quetz: there we go!
Rex: fucking shit, ok. *getting out of bed* let's get going!
Quetz: si!
After a while of changing clothes, Rex had a thought.
Rex: so.... is it just the parade, that we're doing?
Quetz: of course not! There's also the Fiesta were throwing!
Rex: huh?!
Quetz: eh.
Rex: Quetz, Mi corazon, Mi amor, beloved, honeybunch, sugar darling.....!
After hearing Rex call her all those petnames, Quetz got a bit overwhelmed with excitement.
Quetz: si.....!?
Rex: why didn't you tell me about that?
Quetz: oh! But I'm sure I did!
Rex: I think I'd remember that
Quetz: maybe you were sleepy?
Rex, internally: fuck.... she may be right....
Quetz: well, lo siento I wasn't more clear, mi amor. But the invites have already been sent.... so it'd kind of too late.
Rex: it's ok, mi corazon. It's just a lil misunderstanding, and I'm sure it'll be fun regarding!
Quetz: Si! It'll be so much fun!
After having finished up changing their clothes, the two got going to the parade!
It was a huge parade! Many floats going by, military personnel marching through, and even the President was there, in the parade!
Quetz: isn't this amazing, mi amor?!
Rex: si.... never seen this in person before....
Quetz: me neither, and I'm happy I finally got too see it for the first time, and with you!
Rex, blushing: si... it's great being here with you, mi corazon!
A while after the parade, the two headed back home, with food and drink ready for the Fiesta!
Rex: so..... who did you invite again?
Quetz: mostly just family, but also some of our friends from back in Chaldea!
Rex: well that sounds great!
After getting home, the two had set up the food, and drinks and music too! It was then it was time to wait.
Then Quetz's phone rings
Quetz, answering: hola!
Ishtar: hey Quetz!
Quetz: Hola Ishtar! Are you nearby?
Ishtar: actually about that....
Quetz: ....que?
Ishtar: unfortunately things came up with, my dear sister got a bit sick. One of the few downsides to reincarnating. I need to be there for her, sorry.
Quetz: no, it's ok! If Ereshkigal is sick, you take care of her! We'll be fine without!
Ishtar: ok, good to hear! Seeya!
Quetz: Adios!
*hang-up*
Rex: what happened?
Quetz: Ishtar couldn't make it, her sister is sick.
Rex: oh no! I hope she'll be fine!
Quetz: I'm sure things will go well. She has a good sister with her!
Rex: yeah, things will be fine.
After a bit of time, Rex's phone rang.
Rex: heyyo.
Mash: hi, Rex-senpai!
Rex: oh hey Mash! How're you?
Mash: not great... me and the other senpais are stuck in the airport. There's a huge storm preventing take-off. We won't be able to celebrate with you.
Rex: aww... that's ok, Mash. Can't control these things.
Mash: yeah.... eventually we should still be able to meet again, just not for the party.
Rex: it's ok! Don't worry about us!
Mash: thanks for understanding senpai! Ok, I have to go. Seeya!
Rex: bye!
*hang-up*
Quetz: what happened?
Rex: Mash can't make it either. Their plane is grounded.
Quetz: oh no! Even less people for the party!
Rex: it's ok, Mi corazon! It'll still be a fun time!
Quetz: si... I'm sure things will go well!
But after some time, this was repeated many times. It seemed that almost no one was able to come visit the two for the party. Not even many family members.
Quetz: ....so I guess no fiesta....
Rex: looks like it...
Quetz: *sigh* and on our first proper independence day too...
Rex: it's ok, Mi corazon! We're still together!
Quetz: si.... we're still here for each other!
The two then hugged.
Rex: sorry, Mi corazon. I know you were excited for the party.... but these things happen unfortunately.
Quetz: it's ok, mi amor. I'm not upset.... I'm happy that I have you at least!
Then the door knocked.
Rex: oh?
Quetz: what was that?
The two then opened the door, to see Quetz's sister, Xolotl standing there, looking a bit in a daze, and tired.
Quetz: hermana! What happened?!
Rex: you ok?!
Xolotl: si.... *pant* I just *pant* kinda forgot *pant* where you guys lived *pant* and got turned around *pant* but I finally *pant* found you guys! *pant* sorry about that!
Quetz: no, it's ok! We're just happy you made it!
Rex: yeah, we were afraid it'd be just us!
Xolotl: wait what?
Xolotl then noticed that no one else was there.
Xolotl: huh? Where is everyone?
Quetz: something came up with pretty everyone else we invited.....
Xolotl: seriously?!
Rex: yup....
Xolot: aaawww.... well... at least you got me here!
Quetz: si! We're so happy to have you!
Rex: yeah, now we can have atleast a small Fiesta!
The three of them did their best to make the most of the small party, even with so few people they still had an amazing time!
A/N: ok! There we have it, a small story for Mexican Independence day! Of course I had to do one for today! It would've been finished earlier, but things happened. Hope you like it!

Quetz: we don't want them to have to deal with the costs of being a master on top of everything else they've had to deal with!
Da Vinci: y'know I'm still surprised as to how overprotective you two became as parents

Da Vinci: btw, where are they? If their safety is such a concern then I'd expect them to still be by your side?
Quetz: they're with their tias, they don't need to see us yell at you!

Quetz: why are you doing this?! There's nothing to gain.
Da Vinci: well it definitely seems like the two of them could use some independence! I get why you've had to be protective but that's not an issue at this point in time, and they're both 18 years old! They're the same age as the twins are! You can still watch over them, but they deserve a chance.
The two parents were annoyed at how right the little genius was.
Rex: hmmph! Fine! Whatever! They can be masters!
Quetz: but we'll be as close as possible to them!
Da Vinci: fine by me! But loosen the leash a tiny bit at the very least, please?
Both: unlikely!
The two left back to where the children were, at the cafeteria with Hokusai, Tlazolteotl and Xolotl.
Tlaz: so how'd it go?
Quetz: urgh, she raised some annoyingly good points, and refuses to end the contract.
Rex: *sigh* so yeah, they're going to remain masters for the time being...
Mari: uuuuugh!
Ed: btw, something happened while you were gone! The Yagyu guy mentioned something about a swimsuit swordmsster tournament or something at Las Vegas... and Siegfried also showed up I'm a "swimsuit" tho it looked more like normal casual attire to me.
Rex: yeah, that's the Vegas thing tu mamá mentioned before BB sent us here.
Mari: so now we're going to be masters while dealing with this, crap?!
Quetz: don't worry mija, we'll be nearby the whole time!
Rex: but I figured having an inexperienced servant probably isn't the best all things considered...
Hokusai: hey! I resent that!
Rex: Hokusai let's be honest, you're still a bit green. Especially in your current form.

Quetz: so you two can have another few servants.
Xolotl: woah! You're giving them more?! That's exciting!!!

Then the sound of a scooter could be heard as Ishtar Rider rolled up on Maana's scooter form, meanwhile walking up next to her was Jeanne Berserker.
Ishtar: why hello you two! My aren't you cute!
Jeanne: can we get going already?! Don't got all day!
Quetz: si, you'll be contracted with Jeanne alter y Ishtar.
Rex: we figured they'd be decent choices all things considered. And you know them better too!
Mari: yeah.... I barely even remember Hokusai, honestly.
Quetz: she was the twins' servant not your father's. So they weren't nearly as close.
Ed: fair enough. So we're heading to Las Vegas? What's the goal?
Rex: minute singularity that needs to be handled, is taking place over there. So let's get you two started!
Mari: *sigh* I already hate it here....
A/N: the adventure continues! Now it's confirmed the two are definitely masters! Despite their parents' insistence that they do not be masters! But now they're stuck with it for the time being.
Two children, born of an all powerful goddess, and a heroic savior of humanity. It was not know of from the beginning but the path these children were to take in life had already been set out for them. It may not dictate every aspect of their lives, but it does dictate a "final goal" for the two. But this goal involves usurping two other powerful being, two being who'd prefer not lose their power. As such once it was revealed who the children were, these two beings did what they thought would assist in allowing them to keep their thrones.
Unfortunately, this meant sending in deadly monsters from their respective realms, to attack the children.
Shortly after the defeat of Osakabehime, the family and accompanying servants run out of the hotel to be greeted to the sight of many small flying creatures attacking the various visitors of Dazzling Vegas.
Hokusai: what in the hell is going on, here?!
Rex: fuck, it's exactly what we feared!
Jeanne: what exactly did you guys fear?!
Quetz: we don't have time to explain, we'll tell you at the hotel!
Then Quetz's pterosaur flew in, the family getting on.
Rex: Ishtar, use Maana to take the two of them back to the hotel!
Ishtar: are you sure that's a good idea? I'm not sure if Maana in this state will be as much help in this situation!
Quetz: don't worry, they'll mostly come after us, now go!
Ishtar: alright!
Jeanne and Hokusai got on Maana along with Ishtar and rode off towards the hotel. Meanwhile, the Family flew off on Quetz's pterosaur.
Mari: how?! How are they here, now of all times!?
Ed: we're in a time long before our birth, how are they here hunting us?!
Quetz: I don't understand myself, they definitely didn't show up in the original version of this Vegas!
Rex: we're definitely gonna have to talk to BB about this!
Ed: you think she'll know something?!
Rex: I'm not sure who else would! Other then the asshats themselves!
As the family flew through the air, the giant bat that was warned of from before appeared behind them!
Mari: oh there you are dickbag! How unpleasant to seeya!
The creature only shrieks in response.
Ed: so this time around he's just a monster?
Rex: looks like it!
Unfortunately, despite the speed and evasive movements of the pterosaur, the creature was still hot on their tail!
Mari: ugh! What'll it takes to be rid of this asshat!?
Quetz: if I didn't have to focus on flying, I could throw a fireball or two!
Ed: maybe I can use my storm powers!
Slowly, rain clouds started to form, causing an abrupt downpour!
Rex: you sure about this? Your still new to this, and I worry that last storm took a lot out of you!
Ed: what else can we do?!
Lightning strikes towards the beast multiple times, tho it seems the beast is good at avoiding them!
Mari: fucking hell!
Rex: I don't think you'll be able to hit him at this rate!
Ed: then what do we do?!
Then not from above, but from below a blast of electricity erupts and fries the beast!
Mari: holy fuck!
Rex: who did that?!
Quetz: I think I have a guess!
The kids look down from their mount, to see their tia Xolotl waving towards them.
Mari: Xolotl!
Ed: she saved us!
With the beast gone, the smaller creatures stopped swarming and the family were able to reach the hotel safely.
Once there, they meet back up with their servants in the hotel room.
Hokusai: ok, can you guys please fill us in on what in the hell that was about!
Ishtar: yeah! I'd like to know why we were swarmed by those things!
Quetz: it's long, but to cut it short we just encountered Camazotz, an underworld god who works under Mictlantecuhtli.
Jeanne: ok, but why the hell did he randomly attack like that?!
Mari: because... of me....
Ishtar: what do you mean?!
Rex: it's long.... and convoluted but for various reasons, that boney asswipe wants mija gone... and it's usually Camazotz he sends to get the job done.
Hokusai: ok, but you also seemed worried about... sharks in the pool? Is there a similar reason?
Ed then raised his hand.
Jeanne: you're kidding, that asshat wants both of you dead?
Quetz: well in mijo's case it isn't Mictlantecuhtli but Tlaloc.
Rex: and for him, he sends the shark god, Xook. Thankfully we didn't encounter him.
Hokusai: well, we didn't go near water so of course we didn't!
Ed: that's not enough to stop him.
Quetz: si, he can go on land because he actually has legs aswell as fins.
Ishtar: now that's just cheating!
Jeanne: how many times have you encountered these monsters?
Rex: too many to count. Doesn't help that even dying doesn't stop them!
Hokusai: you're kidding!
Quetz: no, both Tlaloc and Mictlantecuhtli rule over afterlifes so the souls of those two always end up back with their masters. With time, and blood sacrifices they can be brought back. But depending on how much time and resources is spent, will determine other factors.
Ishtar: like?
Rex: sometimes they're just bloodthirsty monsters, other times they're bumbling idiots or cold-blooded assassins. Them being remade has an effect on every aspect of them, it all depends on what their bosses want out of the fuckers.
Mari: yeah, if a patsy didn't work, then try an animal, if not that then a contract killer and so on.
Ed: but regardless they're always after us and it's... frustrating.
Hokusai: then how in the hell did they end up here and now?! Long before these two were even born?!
Quetz: that's what we'd like to know! Because this didn't happen originally...
Jeanne: dealing with these monsters along with Hokusai's challenge is going to be a pain!
Rex: well, at least the Lion king is also keen on being rid of them, so there's that at the very least.
Ed: can her knights even handle them?
Quetz: the Knights of the Round are very formidable fighters, Mijo don't underestimate them.
Mari: thankfully, tia zapped Camazotz while on our way here, so he'll likely not be an issue for a bit but I'm not sure if it killed him or not.
Jeanne: how quickly can they be brought back?
Rex: the shortest gap of time between attacks was about a week.
Jeanne: that's plenty of time! Next time we see one of them, we put them down! Then we'll be free of them until Hokusai can finish fighting all these swimsuit swordmasters!
Hokusai: yeah! That sounds like a plan to me!
A/N: so now the monsters have been revealed, more or less. Somehow the kids' worries have followed them across time so that's an issue! But I'm sure all will be fine!
So L and I did some more art together and she decided we should draw season 8 Xisuma. I’m not too proud of mine but that’s alright. I really like hers, be aware that the colors are off because she used my Copics and I only have 6 colors lol
