i fucking despise how many social media platforms that are mainly apps will just refuse to let you look at fucking anything on there if you're logged out and using the site instead of the app. you click on literally anything and a pop up says DOWNLOAD OUR APP TO SEE MORE LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT OR MAKE AN ACCOUNT NOW WITH OUR APP FOR YOUR PHONE you "x" out of that and click on what you want to see and it instantly takes you straight to the app store page and never let's you see what you want to or really anything because it does that every single time. like fuck you i dont give a shit about your dumb app just let me look at a post. one post. the caption and everything. i don't even want to interact with it i just want to look at a public post posted by a public account for the public to see. i am the public. stop gatekeeping. and i mean like i get it and stuff but some sites are wayy worse than others. looking at tumblr on mobile using a web browser i can at least search things and browse some of the most recent posts in a tag or someone's blog before getting the "sign up or log in!" pop up but other social media platforms are absolutely unusable even just for looking at things for a second. sighhh

don't like it when electronics are made to be ultra light and thin and flat as if that's a good thing. like thanks for making your products more breakable and useless oh wise and great tech company. i don't care if a laptop is a little heavy and 1 centimeter thicker than your $2500 paperbook ultralight featherpad pro because no one in their ripe fucking gourd should be carrying a laptop around in their hands all day and they make laptop bags and cases or even just normal backpacks with handles specifically for the purpose of making the laptop as well as it's accessories and whatever else your heart desires plenty portable without having to worry about dropping it because the whole thing has the smoothest slipperiest matte coating that modern science can conceive. i dont care that your TVs save a tiny bit of extra space with it's super thin oled screen and 2 hdmi ports max and no buttons whatsoever since it comes with a breakable lose-able remote you can replace for $30 instead because I'm not going to put all of my wall decor directly behind my tv screen and i don't care that your tv has 200 pre-installed apps to minimize the need for connecting external devices for the purpose of said apps because I'm only going to use three of those apps max and I'm going to connect external devices for whatever i want anyway because i can use them however i want and have whatever apps i want and be on the home screen without seeing ads for amazon-disney-hulu-hbo-peacock-netflix-tubi-star-streamzee-cinetastic-zimzam-dungu-goopy-poob max-plus-prime-premium that all have their separate apps and separate accounts that you have to link in order to get the combo subscription because any given streaming app simply doesn't let you access 70% of their digital library that they routinely change for no reason at all without also being subscribed to whatever streaming service they're borrowing their digital library from or some stupid shit. I'll admit at least that it's nice listening to music with bluetooth headphones but there is so much invisible connection bullshit that if something is wrong it's almost impossible to troubleshoot on your own [[is it my phone? is it the app I'm using? is it my wifi? is it the internal hardware of the headphones? is it the bluetooth connection itself? not even god knows. just wait for the problem to either fix itself or not.]] and the fact that many devices lack the option of an aux cord/audio cable/whatever is dissapointing simply because i think people should have the option regardless and honestly I'd still switch to a walkman and some cassette tapes or CDs any day. i don't think things like washers and dryers and refrigerators and fucking cars need flat touch buttons that can trap humidity or bugs or get heat damaged on the surface and have no indication of working other than the changing of a led or two and in general i want more chonka donk thicc electronics with real wires and electronic shit in them and i want them to have ports for every wire and cable they can and built in useful shit like cd players and buttons to directly control the device that go click clrnk tip tap k'tick beeep

having ocs for some media but the ocs having their own story completely separate from canon feels silly cuz i can't talk about them without no one knowing wtf I'm talking about. like "oh yeah i have fallout ocs. do you want me to write up a design doc for everyone's entire half baked unfinished mess of a story or do you just want the made up blorbo and bingus from my head hypothetical slow burn yaoi completely out of context.
