my partner made a minecraft xp farm for us that utilizes a constantly drowning allay with the infested effect to generate silverfish to be killed for xp. calling it the torment nexus
currently 2 allays inside of the torment nexus. third one coming soon
A skelliyspawner farm built completely from bone collected from this farm. Here I have screenshots of the 1st version 8x8x8 and the second 17x17x17.
The first one was scaled to one block per ‘pixel’ of the skelly head texture map. But I was convinced I could increase production if I increased the size - and minimize skellys spawning outside the skull.
The final has a double piston driven shroomlight that can be pushed to sit atop the spawner and then retracted with a lever to retract the light, close the hole and ‘reactivate’ the spawn farm.
Also the first one - id run back and forth whacking skellies. But the second one uses a bubble elevator and drops the skellies 21 blocks to a one hit kill box. Most of that is glassed in so it can be seen in action.
The Minecraft Cafe /Passive XP Farm (cactus) /Minecraft Vanilla SMP Cactus can make a GREAT XP farm! Here’s how!

Admin Kat was hard at work yesterday building a safe, cataclysm free XP farm! Find it in the nether off the main hub (just look for the mossy tunnel!)
Special thanks to Alexa (admin of our sister server Blocks & Stuff) for help working on the tunnel.
