      The war party of King Bjorn Ironside had succeeded in breaching the walls of Paris and committed a great sacking. Violence and horror were left behind in their wake, but also riches were stripped. Riches meant more than just inanimate objects though. Bjorn had taken the heir of Scotland with him and now on his boat, the man was staring at her ever coyly, ‘ My men secured this from the king's personal stores.’ He said, pulling a bottle of wine out, ‘ A toast to our new alliance.’

“ maybe not. ” kenna admits, she’d never been one to involve herself in politics -- well, not like that.  “ but mary, you’ve already sacrificed so much for everyone.. ” all she wanted to do was protect her friend & queen from having to do something she might never come back from, from having to make a decision she might regret. while it might be good for the well being of both france and scotland, and everyone’s safety in it.. doesn’t mean that always alligns with personal affections. ‘’ if i can be of assist, you will tell me right? ‘’ she knows mary has shielded her ladies from matters like this in the past, and it was much appreciated then but.. she realized, it wasn’t very fair. they knew what they were getting themselves into when getting here. not all remain at mary’s side anymore but kenna never left, nor would she.

Even with the roaring fire, the room was cold. Celia was always cold in Scotland, she had spent her first weeks here sick in bed with a flu brought on by the damp rooms of her husband’s ancestral castle. “Here, have some tea,” she offered her queen, sitting down. 

“My husband swears by whiskey, but it doesn’t warm you, it just makes you numb to the cold. Sweet tea is better.” She could offer her queen more than warm water, but she seemed unsure how to proceed. Even after years of friendship, Celia knew her place. “I know last time we spoke you wouldn’t hear of it, but things have changed Mary. If you baby is a boy, you will find yourself in a worse predicament than you are now. Let me find you safe passage for you back to France, where you can by safe and... my god, you shall be warm!”

SHE WAS NOT USED TO BEING SPOKEN TO, often ignored whilst in the lady sansa’s shadow -- out of sight, away from lingering stares. myrcella, who used to wear sunshine in her smile now hid in the dark with little light to give, stolen throughout the years. she enjoyed the silence, the fact that eyes did not linger upon her monstrosity -- it was better this way lest eyes could start to discover the truths beneath her scars. that myrcella lived -- and this girl, proclaiming the name joanna was, in fact, A LIE...

“ then i           might ask why you are out at this time too? ” trying to avoid an accusing tone, mary was truly concerned — both for tilda and for herself. she would like to avoid trouble at all costs, but was curious as to what made it a less than desirable place to be walking around. “ have you got somewhere to go? i would not like to think of you out here alone too. ”

Her tongue froze as Tilda searched for the right reply. She did not wish to disobey her queen or worse - lie to her - but sharing the truth? For a heartbeat, she regretted calling out to Mary at all. “I am on an errand, your grace, for...” She did not continue, every possible end to that sentence meant only trouble. “I am sorry, your majesty, but I simply cannot say”

        The news report had come onto the screen for the third time that morning and Richard couldn’t help the scowl that had come onto his face. The news was now more full of rumours and whispered theories than actual fact. Most thought that George was guilty of the crime and some even thought that he had done it before and the palace had simply covered it up. Richard gave a disgusted sound and then turned the television off and then grabbing his jacket from the chair. He gulped down the half cold cup of tea and then laid it back onto the table. He took his phone from where it had been charging and then headed out of the hotel room. He ignored the looks he was getting and then quickly walked down the street the cold wind tugging at his clothing and hair.

It didn’t take him long to arrive at his destination and he was let through without much of a fuss being made. Most knew better than to cross Richard when he was in such a mood. Richard soon found Mary and walked over to hug her. He pressed a kiss to her cheek and drew away from her. “Have you seen George yet? Has he said anything to you?” Richard asked her with a gentle voice. He could not see George straying from Isabel’s bed let along killing a woman. Richard let out a deep sigh. “I’m sorry Mary. This must be awful for you too,” Richard spoke. Richard was worried for her and for his brother. He had no doubt that George would be going crazy and he could only imagine what impact this had on Mary and what she was now faced with.
