"…oh."
"do not oh me, missy."
Crinkling her nose at the cup of coffee clutched in her hands, she thought of the bitter taste and the way it made her heart speed up; causing anxiety. Of course, she would not insult a customer by stating her opinion on their order. "Here yo g—" She was suddenly cut off by the stumble in her steps— the coffee flying out of her hands and on top of a male. "Oh my god..." She whispered to herself, frozen on the spot.
Sungmin wasn’t usually one to enjoy his coffee so dark, so bitter, in fact if he was completely honest he would have much preferred it to be sweet like hot chocolate. However, he hadn’t stopped in this shop for the sake of enjoyment, not entirely. He’d found that he desperately needed something to keep him awake, because he could hardly keep his eyes from shutting and the exhaustion from taking over, and what better than near-black coffee, right?
Only that wasn’t what really woke him up suddenly, at least, not drinking it. It was the fact that he’d found himself doused with hot liquid abruptly when the girl who’d been bringing him his drink tripped. “A-Ah, ow, ow, ow-” Sungmin jumped to his feet, as if that would somehow stop the heat of the coffee from seeping through his clothes, the chair screeching against the floor as it was pushed back. He turned to the woman, expression fairly indiscernible for the moment, and he started to speak again, cutting off before he could continue on. “Miss-“
"Please don’t leave."
no. not again.
he stares at her and for once he feels defeated, forced to stay and almost made to not move. her petite figure that so simply lies curled up in the white sheets makes her look impossibly beautiful. each ray of sunlight that slips through the curtains and caresses her soft skin makes her appear almost untouchable. because there she is, made of all the good things in the world and at the other side of the room he stands, ready to walk out the door and leave with all the darkness kept inside of him.
"i can't" he mumbles, fiddles with the hem of his coat before taking another step back. the wooden floor creeks underneath him but he ignores every possible disturbance and focuses on saying no. focuses on rejecting. it's easy to reject her, he could say no anytime. but it's harder to reject himself. he wants to be in that bed with her, he wants to have his arms wrapped around her tiny body, nose nuzzled into her soft hair and he wants to feel her chest rise with each breath.
it takes him two seconds to toss his coat to the floor, kick his shoes off and make his way back to the bed. the sun looks unwelcoming but he ignores it and wraps his arm around her, pulls her closer and presses several kisses onto her forehead.
"...when i consider it, work can wait a few more hours."

Making sure the wound didn’t touch the male’s clothing, she looked up at him and blinked. His height was the first thing that stood out to the shorter female. His visage made her eyes narrow, and brows knot together. Strange. He looked so familiar.
that scent. he ignored it, allowed his attention to travel back to the woman in front of him as he released a heavy sigh. his eyes weren't visible behind the thick black shades he wore to protect them from the sun. "aight are we done here or--" normally he wouldn't bother but this time her wound was the factor that sparkled his interest and within a second he had her wrist grabbed firmly, raising her hand closer to his own face. that scent. he could never ignore it.
With a bandage wrapped tightly around her finger, the young woman stepped out of the small cafe ; trying to keep her breathing even. Fresh air did the trick but this only brought her thoughts to the sequence of events from earlier. It had been a mistake to listen to her boss and try to make something as simple as a sandwich; having cut herself when she was trying to slice tomatoes. Stepping forward with a shake of her head she hit something hard, a body it seemed. "Ah, I'm sorry."
daylight. he hates daylight and he hates humans. everyone's presence around him causes even more irritation to grow in his chest as he pushes his way through the crowd rather roughly. never did he actually care for other's opinions about him being cold and distant, it just happened to be the way he was built to function. being too busy scrolling through his schedule on his phone, someone else ran into him though it couldn't entirely have been their fault. a petite woman it seemed and kris didn't even bother to look at her. "it's okay." he stated, eyes fixated on his phone. his phone that reflects nothing but his own dull expression. until he feels it. the familiar smell of a blood he can remember to have tasted before. he looks up from his phone and this time he pays extra attention to everyone around him except the girl that ran into him. could it be-- if she was around, if it really was her smell he now picked up, why was she bleeding and where was she standing?
