🌙 ˟ ━━━ ・・・ she'd heard the butterbeer had been spiked during this year's drinking contest. what was it that yeona heard whispered ... what professor aurora doesn't know won't hurt her? perhaps not, but it could certainly hurt the people involved - so she avoids joining the contest; the taste of butterbeer doesn't really suit her fancy either way. it's as she's passing by though, hunting for sihwan after they got separated that she's surprised by xuexiu's stumbling - smelling distinctly of butterbeer. “ you were in the contest, weren't you?" she sighs, keeping a hold on the other girl's arms. “ can you stand? do you want to go back to your dorm room to sleep it off?"

is it nap time?

Truly Miso found Mokseong University cool, magical, it had opened his eyes, but besides that? He found it weird, un-understandable sometimes. Why hold an event to celebrate that the student had “survived” their first week of school? Couldn’t the students celebrate that themselves? With a party perhaps, yes truly a party had been much greater than this. A carnival event, how had they even managed this? How long had they planned this for, how had they managed to come up with so many events? And where had these amusement rides even come from? Miso had so many questions for it.

At first Miso was set on not coming, it sounded boring, weird, like something that definitely wasn’t for him. Yet somehow multiple friends had convinced him to come, now he had countless of appointments with friends, and he had no choice but to come. Miso had just finished hanging out with a friend and now he was waiting for his other friend to come so he could hang out with them, where was he waiting? At some stupid tea thing.

However without having really tried he had fallen asleep as he was so bored, and in the middle of his nap someone tapped on his shoulder, were they perhaps trying to wake him up from his great nap? “Go away” he mumbled.

on the ferris wheel with @xuexiumsu!

the speed dating concept didn’t really sound all that bad to cal. if anything, it sounded intriguing at most. he obviously didn’t plan on finding a romantic relationship through this, especially with the fact that he’s technically interested in someone else now. but he still decided to partake in the event simply just so he can get to know more of the students in mokseong, whoever it may be. he wouldn’t exactly be mokseong’s resident nosy bird without getting to know more about the students that walked the same halls as he did.

however, he didn't exactly expect the partner he was going to be paired up with. don't get him wrong––xuexiu is interesting and he did want to be able to get to know her more. but having a conversation with her was him basically trying to annoy the crap out of her while she reacts with a blank face. it makes conversations with her awkward, but he was willing to try his best to at least get something out of her. he didn't even mind if she was going to show pure annoyance with him. as long as it gave him an insight on her personality, he was set with it.

they only had ten minutes to spare while they were in their cart and cal looks at the other girl with a smile. "xuexiu~ how's suseong's co-captain doing, hm?" he asks with a curious smile. he definitely isn't callie by all means, so it feels a little awkward trying to communicate with someone who's not in his own house, let alone a person who seemed to show no interest in him at all despite all his pestering. but he still wants to leave the cart with a satisfied smile and he won't be able to do that if he doesn't fulfill his goal. "so what made you decide to take part in the speed dating? were you wanting to get someone interesting on this ride?" he asks with a smug smile. "well then i guess you're grateful you got me then, huh?"

soohwa admits that he might have liked this part of the carnival specific with iseul more than anyone else, after all she was the one who always made him tea whenever she called him over to make excel spreadsheets with her and if not for her intervention, soohwa would have only tasted coffe in his life (even if the grad student was mostly raised in london, england, the irony), after all what soohwa always needed and therefore what he was looked for was things to keep him awake and active, so coffee did that job just fine, or anything that had caffeine on it really. he has somewhat a sense of what he likes, of the flavors that iseul made him try — even if conveniently all of them were calming types of tea and soohwa should definitely look into later —, but now that he sort of has to order on his own, it’s a bit overwhelming. of course he won’t ever admit it is, but his point still stands.

he still wished that he had some sort of guide. it also would make this a little less awkward. all the tables are completely full and if soohwa wants to sit down and enjoy his time while getting points for his house (because in the end, this was all that mattered and it was a nice reminder to why exactly soohwa was pushing through all of this), he’d definitely have to sit with a stranger, a persont that might know him since he’s head student and a ta, but not that he’ll necessarily know back. it’s a little nervewrecking and in the end he decides to approach someone that he’s almost sure he has seen already the graduation students secretary once, but he isn’t quite sure if it was of his department or other, besides she does seem like she isn’t expecting someone else.

“excuse me.” he clears his throat, hopes he doesn’t sound as awkward as he feels. “is it ok if i take a seat? it’s just that every other table is full and i’d love a cup of tea.” and points for toseong, please and thank you. “i promise to not bother you for long.” and he hopes that’s convincing enough because soohwa really doesn’t know what else he could offer.

the last thing callie wanted was to be late and thank merlin that she wasn’t. although she had a rough start this morning, she was front and center now with xuexiu on her side. both had agreed earlier to use the ernie bott’s competition as chance to bond as teammates, but also as way to garner more house points for suseong. the both of them were rather competitive when it came to their house so with just the carnival offering any sort of competition alone, it was enough to convince them to sign up for all of them -- this particular contest included.

“sorry i’m late! did i miss anything?” callie asked with an apologetic grin, hoping that the other wasn’t too mad for not being there earlier. “it doesn’t look like they’ve started yet-- do you think they’re going to throw any blunders in there apart from the original flavors?”
