When describing its underlying principles, Grandomastery often refers to Arthur Koestler's concept of bisociation - creative problem solving on several planes, merging art, science and humour. However, we should not underestimate other ingenious creators, and, per se, grandomasters, such as Herman Hesse with his Glasperlenspiel. The Glass Bead Game is a synthesis of philosophical thoughts. As the game progresses, associations between the themes become deeper and more varied, like in Grandomastery's Random Abstractions. In a similar, but considerably more demiurgical way, Xul Solar, a phenomenal painter, linguist and inventor introduced an even more elaborate bisociative principle in his Pangame. Each play of the "Pangame" is a poem, a painting, a piece of music, and an arcane rite at the same time. It is possible to create different compositions as the game progresses by combining boxes, syllables, and numbers. These compositions are correspondingly read in 'panlengua', one of the langues that Xul Solar invented. In Pangame, the pieces are also planets that navigate through constellations, but they are also consonants which, paired with the syllabic combinations of the squares, can form invented words; the possibilities are infinite. #xulsolar #borges #grandomastery #glasperlenspiel #pangame #panchess #grandom #grandomasters #creativity #koestler #bisociation #buenosaires #argentina #art #panlanguage (at Museo Xul Solar) https://www.instagram.com/p/CioUIvttubp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

About cigarrets and walls
I want to smoke a cigarette, Julia. But I remember that tomorrow I need run 10km. And the cigarette, you know, kills little by little and you never see a runner dead of lung cancer. I remember you told me that by not showing me I frustrate and disappoint people, just because I expand the space of the idealization of them. It is the paradox of the pleaser who so much wants to please everyone, everyone dislikes more and more. For not knowing who I am, for this low self-esteem, for this fear of people’s look.
And why does my mother’s religion bother me so much? I see her kneeling at mass, her submission to the moralism of the bastard catholic priest, her contemplation of the omnipotent fucking Being. Oh, she prefers Him to me. I desire her desire and so I blaspheme as a pagan. Behind my sophisticated philosophical yarns, the skepticism of Montaigne, Bayle or Bertrand Russell, the rational criticism of Spinoza, the Rousseau civil’s religion, the Marx’s materialism, hides an insecure little boy who claim his mother’s attention and suffers for not having it.
My blasphemy is just my love for you, Mom. Life is really a great irony, don’t you agree, Julia?
I want to smoke a cigarette, my friend, but I dissipate myself along these lines. And my smoky personality - run here right now, listen to me, pay me attention, M. Julia, - I just fell good when I’m drunk. Alcohol allows me to breathe in this fuck dark alcove. Now I burn myself in these prisons that I built with my hands, and I become shapeless smokes and I vanish in the air. I burn and I get breathless in the walls of Kavafis’s poem:
Without consideration, without pity, without shame
they have built great and high walls around me.
And now I sit here and despair.
I think of nothing else: this fate gnaws at my mind;
for I had many things to do outside.
Ah why did I not pay attention when they were building the walls.
But I never heard any noise or sound of builders.
Imperceptibly they shut me from the outside world.
And right now I must go out to train to be myself. Break all these walls around me. I must strengthen myself, and run away to the silences of this hollow library, and get away from the solitudes of my writing.
