AH!! MY BOY!! :’DDD
How I feel about this character: I really, REALLY love him!! I feel like he’s kind of an under appreciated CV character since he’s not a belmont and only has 2 games (not counting Harmony of Despair and Grimoire of Souls). He is just such an interesting character with a really unique set up and story!! Lots of possibilities and things to think about~
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Lil miss Mina Hakuba :’) they’re such sweethearts and its fucking adorable!! They care about each other so much, like how Mina has unwavering faith and trust in him, and Soma tries his best to be strong for her! He wants to pull through for her! Also how Soma loses all his control when he thought Mina died in DoS gets me every fuckin time (I can not get over the head canon that Dracula’s loves reincarnate too so mina is the reincarnation of Lisa and Elisabetha 😭it’s PERFECT.)
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Thats a hard one, but I love the odd father-son son-father relationship he has going on with Arikado. Like how weird and emotionally complex it must feel for Arikado to almost become a caretaker for the reincarnation of his father is just such a wild concept. I like how they get on each others nerves sometimes but the trust Soma ultimately has in Arikado and how much they rely on each other to keep evil in balance is important!! (I want to see them get into non dangerous shenanigans asjdflaksd gimme weird family bonding!!)
My unpopular opinion about this character: Soma is a complex character with what he has to deal with in regards to his age, i’ve seen a lot of people either treat him like a helpless baby, or like he’s some hardened badass adult. In reality he’s an 18 year old (in AoS) who had his entire identity and concept of self thrown out the window, and he has to struggle with extremely dangerous shit on top of having to basically relearn himself. Soma has sooo much pressure on his shoulders and it bothers me when people treat him like a child because he’s “too trusting or confused or haha dummy” in a situation where its completely reasonable for him to be? idk his situation and behavior just isn’t black and white.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish he was more vampire like!! I like to imagine he still has traits after the events of AoS since his powers were “awakened” but ultimately got under control, so I don’t think he should ever look completely human!! (i’m not sure if he ever did? I think I read somewhere once that people have always found him kinda off putting/creepy and thats why he never really had friends?) So yeah I need to start drawing that boy more with pointy teeth and ears~
