We’re all disappointed Ash lost due to status quo being the God of the Pokemon anime universe, but honestly, at least it wasn’t against someone as ridiculous as Tobias and his legendaries (that he just had, no questions asked) or someone as dense as Cameron and his Deus-Ex-Lucario. Alain has been shown to go head-to-head with Legendaries and elite trainers; his badass cred is established. I think they had this whole thing planned, and introduced Alain early on to alleviate these types of complaints.

It’s Pokemon’s 20th anniversary. Ash has never won a league. The writers not only had him lose after all the fucking hype around this episode, but then they had Team Flare jump in at the end directly on top of it like HERE, HERE’S MORE TERRIBLE SHIT. AT LEAST FUCKING HAVE ASH WIN IF THERE’S GOING TO BE MORE CONFLICT, YOU CUNTS. THAT’S HOW WRITING WORKS.
If you’re a good fucking writer, you offset negative and positive elements into your “story” so that way your reader doesn’t feel totally fucking hopeless. Even TRAGEDIES do this (death being offset by occasional humor). If you leave your “audience” completely emotionally drained, they won’t want to fucking come back. And I am not going back to this fucking anime. It can run its course, then fucking END.
I’m not invested in the fucking Zygarde arc at all now. What’s the point? -4/10, would not fucking watch again.
I’ve been watching the anime from the very fucking begining. Ash is never going to win a league. Ever. Why set myself up for disappointment if I know it's never going to happen like??????
