I don't understand these people, how hard is it to not repost? Reposting takes more effort than reblogging anyway, when did it become a 'true fan' thing to disrespect the perfectly reasonable wishes of the artist?

Thats the thing, instagram doesnt allow sharing or propper sourcing... they dont have any other propper way of sharing the content they like there... im not upset at the people, im upset @ the website :/ but im uploading my work there myself now so -shrug-

How many years of school + training does it take to become a lab tech?

two years specialized program and a certification exam is the bare minimum but not the only route. i have a four year biology degree which is enough to be hired as a tech and be trained on the job to do the benchwork, although this does still require taking a certification exam eventually. i haven't decided yet if i intend to obtain my certification because my interests do not ultimately lie in clinical work, but i do have the credentials to become a fully certified tech if i decide that's what i want.

Yes! I am just as much on Deviantart as on tumblr or maybe more. I’m also on twitter, though that account is relatively new and I don’t post a lot there.

Sorry for my late responses. Sometimes tumblr decides to just not notify me of my messages. Yet another reason why I am not at all a fan of this website by default.

I’ll probably still be here on tømblr after the 17th tho. I never posted, or would post, what I'd classify as NSFW material anyway so I’m probably not even affected. I'm on tumblr just to have a place to dump my stuff (and also to check on my friend’s stuff). That’s really the only reason I’m here.

The way you suggested that YD's pearl is coping with trauma is a good assertion, but it also remains to be seen that it's possible the attitude she exerts is partially due to the people she deals with. We don't really know what the gem higher ups are like, and it is possible she has a similar attitude in dealing with low ranking gems displaying incompetence that the majority of the gem hierarchy possesses. Still remains to be seen though.

the fact that Yellow Pearl has a natural fear response tells us its as a result of abuse of some kind. Whether from Yellow Diamond, other Gems, or that Pearls are just pre-programmed to be fearful of higher ranking Gems. But the fact that she doesn’t fear Peridot makes it seem highly likely that her fear response toward Yellow Diamond is informed by past experiences.

I mean, anything is possible, I just find the idea that her behavior isn’t caused at least in part from having been abused/traumatized highly unlikely. Regardless of what other attitudes she has, I feel this response of hers to Yellow Diamond makes it very clear what she has experienced with her.

Oh yeah, I get what you are saying, what Pearl did was wrong. I didn't meant to justify, only hopefully clarify. I guess the only difference I note is that Pearl's shortcomings in that situation are less her looking judgmentally down on others, but more so her looking blindly up at Rose. Equally bad, just from different sources.

I don't think that Pearl necessarily valued Rose's legacy over any "human" life, I think that she valued Rose over everything, and thus was blind to her own self destructive tendencies in defending Steven until the effect could be witnessed on a third party: Connie. Connie's training was less an embodiment of what Pearl thought of humans, and was more an example of Pearl's own blind loyalty being projected on someone else.

That doesn’t change the fact that what Pearl did was wrong. Yes it may have had solid roots and build-up, but that doesn’t excuse anything. It’s not right to defend Pearl’s downright brainwashing of a child to let themselves die for someone else because of what Pearl, a strong warrior gem who could regenerate unlike humans who die and never come back, just because they themselves were trained to do so. Pearl is stronger and smarter than that. Connie wanted to learn the way of the sword to fight alongside Steven, Pearl had no right training her by telling her that she is “nothing” and that all that matters is Steven living. I don’t care if she was raised that way, that doesn’t excuse her actions. No mentality could ever excuse bad actions. Ever. It’s wrong to immediately excuse someone’s toxic actions just because they are a troubled soul or an “unstable lone wolf” or whatever, that doesn’t make them free from their faults- they are smarter and stronger than that and Pearl has lived waaaaaay too long. She should have known better.
