So there's plenty of tension and angst before we get to the steamy bits, and I think it's REALLY fun because I love angry, protective John, and he really shines in this one. And y'know sometimes you gotta have sex with the homies to protect them. And maybe you like it and hate yourself for liking it. Which could mean nothing.

John’s eyes caught on Rodney’s lip, the split that had barely scabbed up, was still swollen. He could feel his blood boil, his ears burn. “What happened to your face, McKay?”
“Nothing,” Rodney mumbled.
The warlord huffed out a gruff, dark chuckle, and the sound made John’s mood worse. “He needed some correcting,” he stated, his bland tone condescending.
John needed to get them out of here before he committed a murder.
