She proceeded to pull her camise over her head and toss it to the side, pulling her arms up just a breath away from covering herself. This wasn’t the first time she had exposed herself in front of another person and yet, something about it felt different. The nervousness she felt turning in her stomach as his eyes trailed over her figure was not something she was used to and she couldn’t bring herself to look at him. She felt his hands before she saw them, her breath getting caught in her throat as they landed on her hips, his left thumb gently running over an old scar.

“You needn’t hide from me, love.”

She looked up to find him intently watching her, her face heating up as she realised that once again, he was able to see past any wall she tried building.

“I… I’m sorry. I do not know why I’m feeling this- It’s…” It’s different. Never before had she been so painfully aware of every inch of her body. Of every scar and burn, of every hair and scale, how her skin folded and breasts sat, all on display for the man she loved so dearly. She couldn’t help but scrutinise every last detail, wondering if she was enough for him.

And yet, there was something about the way he looked at her, the way he so gently regarded her in a way no one else had done before. He placed a hand on the soft curve of her jaw and directed her towards him, each kiss he pressed to her lips helping to erase her doubts. She let out a relaxed sigh against his lips and leaned her forehead against his.

“Forgive me. I am alright now.”

“Remind me, what is it that I should be forgiving you for?”

Snorting, she rolled her eyes at his quip.

“Are you sure you’re fine?”

Her answering nod earned the most darling of smiles from him before he leaned for her lips again, his hands roaming down her body before settling under her thighs, easily pulling her onto his lap.

The nervousness she felt turning in her stomach as his eyes trailed over her figure was not something she was used to and she couldn’t bring herself to look at him. It had been 4 weeks since Cecilia lost her family, met Alistair and became a Grey Warden. She threw herself into her work, knowing that if she and Alistair didn’t follow up on the treaties and gather an army to fight the Blight, Fereldan could very well fall. She knew that, deep down, she was focusing so hard on the mission so that she couldn’t think of her family that she lost. She always volunteered herself for night watch at camp so that she wouldn’t have the free time to grieve, for she knew if she began to sob, she would find it hard to stop.

Alistair could tell from the first time they met, that Cecilia was desperately holding herself together and keeping her emotions locked up. He eventually learned the reason for this, and tried his best to keep the mood light for her, despite their bleak situation. His attempts at cheering her up first began because he had also lost a loved one and knew what she was going through, but eventually, he had found himself being drawn to her and genuinely caring about her well-being. However, despite his best efforts, he was never able to get a smile out of her.

One night, Alistair offered to keep Cecilia company at camp whilst everyone slept. They were immersed in conversation and Alistair told one of him lame jokes, at an attempt to get her to laugh. She stared blankly at him as he rubbed a hand on his neck and looked away, knowing that once again he had failed. The silence between them was cut off, however, as he heard a quiet snort come from her direction. He looked back up just time to see her unsuccessfully stifle a laugh. She held a hand over her mouth as her cheeks brightened. “I’m sorry, that joke was just so bad.” She lowered her hand a smiled at him, a faint blush still covering her cheeks. He found himself staring at that smile, his own cheeks heating up and his heart hammering in his chest. He stammered out a reply and they soon continued their conversation, but he couldn’t help thinking back on the sound of her laugh and the sight of her smile.  And it was then that the realisation hit him like a bucket of cold water. The reason why he found himself so drawn to her, why he was so concerned about her wellbeing and why he tried so hard to see her happy.

valerie never believed she was made for love. she had the occasional fling but nothing ever went further than that. that's what she told kaidan. and that was what she told garrus.

she could tell that kaidan was beginning to develop feelings for her. deep down, she knew that she should've stopped before it was too late. but instead, she tried to justify her actions. she told herself that what she was doing was fine, and that it was kaidans fault that he cared for her because she told him from the beginning that she wasn't interested in a reationship. and she would tell herself that everytime he looked at her like that.

valerie was scared of what it meant. the immense joy she felt seeing garrus' face. the scream she felt build up but couldn't release when he was hit. the tightness in her chest waiting for any news from the medbay. she told herself it was just concern for a friend, nothing else. she leant against that rail and casually brought up the idea of stress relief, all while telling herself it meant nothing.

Aria brings up the idea of giving each other a tattoo because she can tell, that with each passing day, Julian is drifting further and further away from her, so engrossed in curing the plague that he barely acknowledges other people. And she knew all along that this would happen. With Julians way of thinking and his self-sacrificing personality, of course he would get it in his head that it was his responsibility to cure the plague.Aria knew that there was no way she’d be able to bring him back from that thought, so instead she brought up the idea of the tattoos to have one last moment together before she lost him to his work. And so one night, she pulled him away from his desk and gave each other their tattoos. A ravens head behind Arias right ear, and a small ferret on Julians rib cage. It was a silent promise that no matter what happens, after everything that’s said and done, they will always belong to each other.
