Yamazaki Whisky 12 y.o.
The Yamazaki 12 Years Old is far more than just a whisky – it is regarded as the pioneer that brought Japanese single malt whisky to the world stage. Since its launch in 1984 by Suntory, it has epitomised the elegant, balanced style for which Japan is now world-renowned.
The whisky comes from the Yamazaki Distillery, Japan’s oldest malt distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. The distillery is located near Kyoto, in a region known for its exceptionally pure water and humid climate – both essential factors for the maturation of whisky.
Unlike many smoky or robust whiskies from Scotland, the Yamazaki 12 Year Old focuses on finesse. It is harmonious, mild, and very approachable, making it appealing to both beginners and connoisseurs alike.
Cask types: American oak casks, sherry casks, Japanese oak casks
