How long does bailey keep his victim in the basement? Since he cant't have them there forever. What indicates the time to take them upstaires and what indicates that they need a longer time in the basement.
((This is an excellent question, I had to do some research on effects on the mind, but the most I could really find was the effects on inmates. So please don’t take this as gospel. From what I’ve found though, he’d probably keep you down there for a month or so, he’d be your only connection to the outside world and he knows that. I imagine by the time you’re allowed upstairs, you’d pretty much desperate to be anywhere else. What’s be looking for would be psychical weakness, such as difficulty walking, staying awake and troubled memory.
If you’re still defiant or likely to successfully escape then you’ll be spending more time down there. The lights down there might suddenly start acting up, your meals might get a touch or two smaller, it might get colder down there. Its less that he wants you to suffer, its more he wants to you rely on him, and if you can swallow your pride and verbally ask then he’s got you.))
