Honestly, this is up to personal imaginations and preference.
I have a few that I headcanon. One of my personal favorites would be something like this, in a Yandere!AU:
Y!MC is pretty jealous, given how their lack of close relationships with people (Even the charismatic ones, due to how few they get genuinely close with someone) makes them vulnerable to anxiety and paranoia of their RO leaving them. Fear fuels their obsessive behavior to a morbid degree, going up as high as stalking and tracking the majority of their life.
Then there are people who would know the ROs but not MC - this is so unhealthy, how is RO okay with this, MC is going too far, etc. But RO just brushes it off, showing a soft smile (like Dionysus) or a neutral stoicism (like Zeus). In fact, if MC pipes in, like going to their table under the guise of 'bumping into them' for example, their RO would more than likely pull up a chair for them and give them figurative (and literal) headpats, as if praising them for finding them so fast. Seeing MC look so docile and genuinely sweet, it makes people wanna get to know them more...
And that's when people realize: RO is just as crazy obsessive as MC. Cue RO glaring or smiling chillingly at them with the message "Don't even think about it," written all over their face. They're the more manipulative yandere, knowing how to tame their other (better, as they would protest with) half and keeping them to their side while getting to spoil them with affection they are so readily to give.
TL; DR: One yandere being manipulative + One yandere being obsessively clingy but turns sweet upon being returned = Best. Yandere. Couple. Ever.
