because you didn’t give me a prompt you’ll get a trick
It happened so fast. Yang never thought there was anything in the world faster than Weiss using her glyph or Ruby using her semblance. She was wrong.
It was a grimm, one she had never seen before. The shape of a bird but so small, so elusive. Razor sharp wings, cleaver beak and pin prick claws. None of them had been able to hit it even once ever since it had come bursting out of the bushes. At least, not until Weiss had gotten a lucky shot in and then it had turned ugly. With a pierching screech it had started to chase her as the rest of them struggled and failed to keep up.
Not that it would have made much of a difference.
The grimm caught her. One push of strong wings and it soared forward, wing slicing straight through cloth and skin. They were too far away to see anything but a spray of blood and Weiss’ glyph flickering to nothing. Yang reached her just too late to catch her falling to the forest ground, spilling like freshly fallen snow.
Ruby rushed past them in a gust of wind, Blake not far behind, continuing their chase with new vigor. She shouted something back that Yang couldn’t hear. Instead she fell to her knees next to Weiss.
Weiss seemed stunned, as if she hadn’t noticed the blood dying her dress red but shaking like a leaf, fingers twitching on green grass.
“Don’t move.” Yang heard herself say, reaching out to the injury with one shaking and one steady hand. As soon as she made contact, Weiss’ body remembered to scream. She fliched away but Yang held her with a firm grip even if her hands were getting slippery.
“It’s ok. You’ll be ok.” Yang said, mostly to herself and Weiss clutched onto her with frail fingers. Her eyes were full of agony and fear and Yang could only hope she wasn’t reflecting back the same. Instead she gave Weiss the best smile she could muster for comfort. It felt hollow on her face but Weiss pressed her lips together and nodded as if she believed her.
Yang kept the pressure on the precious life underneath her and looked around them. Ruby’s and Blake’s battle cries had gone silent. The grimm had not returned. There was just nothing. Just endless forest.
