“I just drew what I saw” HELP, they’re so cute I can’t.. just date already 😭 I just love everything about this series. It’s Shikimori, but good so far. Our two leads’ chemistry is great and all their interactions are just wholesome af. No unnecessary drama, just a girl trying to keep the boy she likes from dying at school lol.

“maybe a normal high school life is all these youthful moments” there you go!! There’s no one size fits all answer for a normal high school or life experience. Everyone is different and that’s valid. Kiyoko protecting Yano and bringing him into her friend group is their normal and that’s ok. Loved the lunch segment so much. If Yano can’t eat anything he brings for lunch, just make him a lunch so you know it’s safe and won’t cause any problems lol. That’s such a big moment for Yano as well because he’s never been able to eat lunch with friends and seeing them all go to such lengths for him had to move him so much.

The way they both drew each other so beautifully for their art assignment 🥰ok tbf Kiyoko’s could use some work, but she tried her best and Yano appreciated it so that’s all that matters. Him drawing her like the most beautiful person on the planet is so cute!! That confession when it comes will move mountains

Kiyoko is so freaking pretty, but seeing the job Ajia-do have done with this and Yubiren makes me wonder why they couldn’t make Bookworm look as good as these two shows?? Imagine if Myne would’ve got this sort of detail smh. WIT got us, but I’d love to have seen this character designer and team working on bookworm.

This was really Hashiba’s episode and in any other story, I’d be rooting for him to win. I like how even though he confessed to Kiyoka, he didn’t pressure her or make her feel bad about Yano and instead got to know Yano and understand WHY Kiyoka likes him.

“Just being able to spend ordinary days with Yano kun makes me happy” ahhh they said the thing! The way the safest place in the world for Yano is being next to Kiyoka is so cute!! She did all that worrying about them changing seats too lol. Would’ve been messed up if they had to be apart right as soon as she starts feeling confident and comfortable around him.

It’s so cute how Hasiba and Yano ended up becoming best friends after hanging out one time lol. Hashiba really appreciates how cool Yano is and I hope we continue to see a wholesome little friendship develop with them. We’ll find you someone one day don’t worry Hashiba.

Ouwee we are starting to get some juicy drama here, I like it! I didn’t even think Yano was capable of feeling jealous 😭, but here we are in his jealous phase trying to get Kiyoko and the others to see him as something more than just a baby who needs to be protected.

On one hand, constantly getting hurt means Kiyoko and the others are always giving him attention, on the other hand, it makes him feel like he’s just an object of their pity rather than genuine love. I get it and seeing Kiyoko getting closer to Hashiba lately only compounds things. Hashiba is athletic, smart, traditionally masculine etc., and like I said last week, in any other story he’d be my pick for Kiyoko, but there’s something so charming and sweet about Yano doing his best to fight and overcome his disposition.

Yano being in his rebellious phase today doing everything to make Kiyoko not see him as a little kid was really cute. He didn’t quite say it yet, but at least he’s realized what he’s feeling is love and hopefully that leads to us getting a confession soon! The character animation today was really good as well, love the facial expression they gave Kiyoko when she asked why Yano was avoiding her 🥹

Also, Kiyoko not being super smart was a genuine surprise to me she does a great job of tricking everyone with the studious gimmick lol

Oh my gosh, not just a confession episode, but one of the best confessions I’ve ever seen. It’s not over dramatic or dragged out, not a lot of crazy build up, just Yano finally putting a name to the feelings he’s been experiencing this entire time and letting Kiyoko know he feels just as strongly about her as she does him 🥹🥹Kiyoko and Yano we are all rooting for you! Kicking my feet in the air this was so cute

I love how this entire episode is just everyone peeping out how everyone feels. Kiyoko’s friends clocking she’s in love with Yano. Yano clocking that Hashiba is in love with Kiyoko and Hashiba realizing the same for Yano. It’s like the worst kept secrets lol. “It’s for my sister” yea bro you ain’t fooling nobody. Hashiba reading shoujo is so cute and makes him even more relatable. Again, I feel for him because dude is a sweetheart and in any other story I’d root for him! He’s really the MVP of the episode too because without him putting Yano on shoujo manga, yano never would’ve put a title on his feelings for Kiyoko lol.

I did NOT expect that first Yano confession to just be so ordinary and in the middle of class and I really appreciate that because it’s such a deviation from usual shoujo tropes! Kiyoko.exe has stop working! Not her totally freezing up afterwards lmao

Our ending confession was so sweet, Yano didn’t stutter or hesitate at all, just straight up telling Kiyoko how he feels about her and leaving zero room for misunderstanding. You can see the weight off her shoulders as she’s finally got the boy of her dreams who she’s been chasing for so long. Now, how do they navigate their new relationship since this is all new to them? 6 episodes in we’re dating. can’t ask for a better start to a shoujo romance.

Yano-Kun ✅ 9/10. “Yano-Kun, your eye isn’t cursed. It’ll bring joy to anyone who sees it” ahhh I’m going to miss my babies so much 😭 this was a perfect finale for the series with Yano’s friends asserting the joy and happiness he brings to their lives is worth ANY inconvenience his injury predisposition might bring! It’s basically the entire point of the story summed up in one beautiful episode, only complaint is we didn’t get a kiss!

If you think about it, Okamoto is the single most important character to this entire story thus far. Without her showing up and talking to Yano, we never would’ve got that backstory nor would Yano’s insecurities have been fully assuaged. He needed to confront that and move forward. It kind of makes me sad tho because in another world, Okamoto and Yano would’ve been a nice couple. She’s a sweetheart and so awkward I love her. She reminds me of Komari from Makeine! The fact losers in middle school talked shit and spread rumors about Yano for no reason pisses me off tho. I went to school with a dude with heterochromia and it was just normal, people actually thought it was dope at first and then we just got used to it lol.

WAIT HIS EYEPATCH CAME OFF BUT WE DIDNT SEE IT??! They’re teasing so hard smh gonna make us read the manga to see what his full face looks like lol. Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s like the last panel of the manga or something. This was such a fun and cute watch though. I really don’t have any complaints other than not getting a kiss, but Yano grew a lot, Kiyoko made strides and this supporting cast was great. I’d wanna see more Hashiba and Izumi for sure!
