David would be a German shepherd methinks, it's super basic but I think it works really well considering he's this tough ex mil guy. Javi would be a dhole or perhaps a dingo, some kind of wild dog, contrasting his brother. Kate would be a mhorr or a dorcas gazelle, she just has those big lovely eyes and gentle nature that makes it work for me. Gabe would be a mongoose, they're feisty, clever little guys, just like him! Mari would be a cuban martin or some kind of little bird like that, sweet and gentle...
(P.S. I thought making them all the same-ish species because they're related would be a bit boring, so here we are. Kind of just having fun with it, ya know.)
