finishing up Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken rewatch for the like,,,5th or 6th time and these girls never get old

i feel like i notice something new every single time, it’s so smartly done and the animation is so deeply perfectly imperfect. The girls are always off model. idk if asakusa HAS a model. Tsubame runs weird. the proportions are almost always off on Somebody. the angles are occasionally off. the walk cycles are choppy. the line weight from scene to scene is heavily inconsistent. Half the time when one of them is talking it looks like the pop cat with an extra frame.

And it’s so utterly perfect because of it. It adds to the realism, the comedy, the performance. Asakusa is genuinely one of my favorite characters to see animated because she is the human equivalent of the squash and stretch principle.

Perfectly imperfect animation because it will Never Be perfect to the animator but the performance(in the sense of acting) of that imperfection is what matters.
