So, my husband and I have decided (one again) that this is the year we win against the forsythia (just like we decided the same thing the last three years running)  but for real this time.  In march during quarantine I was able to finally stand in the rock garden again. It’s been 15 years since anyone stood where I stood.  Last night I couldn’t get halfway back to where I’d been bc the goddamn menace of the forsythia bounced back like a leafy flubber.  I want that garden back. I want to enjoy my yard again. Once nesting season is over, I’m gonna go in with FIRE if I have to, but I will get that garden BACK.  and then we will turn on the bittersweet rat’s nest that is the side yard.
