One of the things they don’t tell you as a newbie author is that books (unless they are perennial bestsellers) have a very short shelf life. Every week new books come out and there is only so much real estate bookstores have to display titles. As a result, some books may only be in stores for a month or two. For something that you’ve worked on for years, put your heart and soul into, that is a bitter pill to swallow. This is why still doing events after two/three years of having my books released is such a thrill for me. Knowing and understanding that shelf life, but having a big chain still spend their limited dollars on my titles, is a very cool thing. I hope and pray that readers will continue to find my books and support my brave girls.
