Steve for @a-literate-chicken on Art Fight! I've had my eye on this pattern forever, but I already have 3 chicken-shaped purses that I don't use, so I couldn't justify making myself a 4th.

You've been knitting a jumper.

you're almost at the end.

you're playing yarn chicken on the end of the last sleeve.

you lose yarn chicken.

you go to see if you can get some more of the same yarn.

you can't find anything similar so you look at the original company from the label.

the company hasn't existed for 100 years and the country it was made in no longer exists.

Yarn is so scary 'cause you'll look down and there'll be so much of it and there'll be so much of it for so long. Like I think it'll never run out. The all of a sudden you look down and there's nothing left.

Like I don't know what the manufacturers are putting it in to make it do that but it sure isn't yarn.

Sometimes when I’m playing yarn chicken, I’ll start to knit faster as though the speed is going to have any impact whatsoever on how much yarn is used up.

Barely won a game of yarn chicken with these two-at-a-time socks.

Which is relieving for this project especially since the yarn is mystery secondhand that I’ve never seen before…

Currently unblocked but the pattern is Berry Season by Melissa Morgan-Oakes.

This project has had it's share of problems. First time I've missed a testing deadline. The yarn was slow in arriving while the 4-week deadline came too quickly. Then I realized that I'd run out of yarn long before finishing, and my supplier (and their distributor) had 0 left. Bailed out, thankfully, by a member of Ravelry. 🙏 The additional cake is in this pic. Can you tell it's a different dye lot? (Just say No!)

Frustrated? A bit. Discouraged? Not at all. Still loving working on this & loving the results.

So happy with this scarf/shawlette I just finished! Still need to weave the ends in.

The pattern is Pincha Shawl by Pinpilan Wangsai.

If you are strong in spirit and not afraid of chickens:

Those ends you see? Literally all I had left. If I were to run out during the cast-off I would've gone back and made the last short rows a bit more aggressive, moving towards the end by 5 or even 6 stitches at a time instead of 4. Or used a different green yarn, I have a bit in a somewhat similar shade to the lightest green here. Thankfully it worked out though!
