I haven’t been in the fandom for so long that I’m outta the loop on some things. Is it true that Takahashi sensei is now endorsing S*ssr*n? I saw some pros claiming that. The way I saw it Y*sh*h*m* was never canon (they can’t even get the anime and manga to match, they contradicted the hanyou aging thing they made up with the twins, and Takahashi herself said hanyou age at the same rate as humans). But now some people are saying there’s evidence she was heavily involved with the story? But I always saw that ship as something that they started and pushed not her. I also wouldn’t believe that she’d want her leads we followed for so long and rooted for to be sidelined that bad and to miss out on raising their daughter after so much. This is bumming me out. Sorry I promise that I’m just asking since I haven’t followed the fandom in a long time.

First of all, my condolences for your discovery of Yashahime lmao.

Watching that show in real time was so depressing and I kind of forgot about most of it, so I won't be able to direct you to specific interviews as evidence. What I can say is that no she was never "heavily involved" in the story. She's a script supervisor and character designer. She had the same role in the Inuyasha movies and said it basically involved her meeting up with Sunrise once in a while, going "good job guys" and then being surprised when watching the final product because they still change a lot of stuff even after the script is reviewed by her. For hny, one thing I vividly remember is her being surprised to see that Moroha didn't get the fire rat robe from Inuyasha, which gives you an idea of how "involved" she was in the story. I really don't know how much she knew about what happened to Inuyasha and Kagome because of that comment.

She said before that anime adaptions are their own things and she doesn't care if they change stuff, so no she was not heavily correcting and adding stuff to the story of hny. I only remember her making comments about Towa's pronouns? And telling them not to make Sesshomaru show too much emotions (she said that to Shiina, the mangaka for the hny manga iirc).

I mean, the woman is 60+ years old and working full time on her own weekly manga. I just don't understand how anyone can really think she was working hours on Yashahime at the same time, lmao.

As for the ship that shall not be named, it depends what you mean by "endorse". She was asked to redraw an illustration of their family for the Yashahime manga, and she did. It's not very "shippy", it's just the 4 characters in the same image. She never said it was now canon or that she ever thought about making it canon. She in fact said that she viewed him as her guardian. If she wanted it to be canon, she simply would have made it happen in her story. But she also doesn't care that Sunrise wanted to make it happen in their work, unfortunately.

I didn't understand the whole Kagome and Rin having to be sealed (or frozen?) because of the pearls or whatever. It feels forced and unnecessary, just like in the anime

I saw on twitter that Sango is pregnant in the HNY manga, I wonder if Shiina will let Inukag have another pregnancy too even if its toward the end! He’s really making quite a different story

Anyone with common sense would know that mirsan will have more than 3 kids but I didn’t expect Shiina to actually add that to the HNY manga! I also really didn’t expect to have inukag talk about being gentle and passionate with each other and Kagome being completely comfortable being naked in front of Inuyasha, so honestly anything is possible in this story lmao! It would be nice if Moroha had a little brother or sister :’)

How do you feel about the new hny chapter?

I haven't read it yet lol Usually someone posts a link to a google drive with all the pages but I couldn't find one today. I've only seen panels out of context!

I've seen this tweet which translates a few pages and I LOVE that Inuyasha calls out Sesshomaru for being a deadbeat dad. The way Inuyasha says "He's missing out on all the fun!" like he genuinely loves being a dad it makes me cry 😭😭 I love that we got to see Kagome holding Moroha quite a few times too.

There's this panel where Inuyasha got injured and Sesshomaru carries him... BRIDAL style... it's very weird and I don't like it LMAO

Anyway I'll have to wait for the translation because I have no idea what actually happened and why Inuyasha and Kagome ended up sealed.

i heard trigun reboot become huge hit revied fanbase and i dont know if sunrise would react

Well Yashahime did revive the fandom for a while, until everyone realized it sucked and left again.

I watched the first episode of Trigun Stampede recently and it is so good. I also listened to a podcast with a producer for the series and you can tell the reboot was a huge passion project and a lot of love and care went into it. It's not like Yashahime which only happened because producers wanted to make money and Sumisawa basically had to be forced to come up with a story 🥴 If we had a PROPER reboot that followed the manga and was made by people who actually respect the canon story (NOT Sunrise) I'm sure it would revive the fandom too.

Inuyasha looked so pained while Moroha cried. Poor baby girl has been so strong. He held onto her for the majority of the episode too. Kagome should let him clobber Sesshomaru, he had the right idea when he said that.

He really did 😭 That's what's so cruel about the plot of Yashahime, Inuyasha knows what it's like to grow up as a hanyo and without parents, and his daughter went through the exact same thing for no valid reason. I'm sure he's going to be extremely protective of her now that they're reunited, and seeing them cuddle and her ride on his back was so adorable.

Also YES Inuyasha is the only one with braincells in this show I swear

Kagome was like "I'm sure he must have had his reasons" lmao yeah sure he had reasons, but they weren't good ones. Kagome blindly accepting that Sesshomaru separated her from her daughter when she literally had to abandon her own family to be with Inuyasha makes no sense. Kagome was just ooc through the whole episode and it got on my nerves.

Did Yashahime get another season?

Yashahime got 2 seasons, each season being 24 episodes for a total of 48 episodes. AFAIK there's little to no chance of it getting a 3rd season. From what I understand they actually planned for more but had to rewrite it to make it fit into 2 seasons only (not sure if it was because of bad ratings or Sunrise being merged into Bandai Namco). So yeah, the ''story'' is done and I don't see them making more content because they (very poorly) tried to have everything be resolved at the end of the second season.

The manga adaptation is still ongoing, there's 21 chapters out right now and you can read the latest ones for free on the VIZ app.
