Steve Harrington did not plan on becoming a camp counselor.

In fact, just three weeks ago he had been working at Family Video, slugging through a late shift, listening to a pimply teenager explain the entire plot of Ghostbusters like Steve hadn’t already seen it twelve times. He’d been thinking about how the summer stretched ahead of him.

Then he saw the flyer.

CAMP DRIFTWOOD — COUNSELORS NEEDED. ROOM, BOARD, PAY.

He called the number before he could overthink it.

Now he’s wrangling a pack of loud, competitive twelve-year-olds dubbed The Bear Cubs who treat him like a jungle gym and a hero in equal measure (only because he can throw a football farther than the rest of the staff). He pretends he’s got everything under control.

Most of the time, he almost does.
