FINE!!!!!!!! blorbo of the week is Lucas the Magnificent from YOLO Crystal Fantasy 👉👈 for context; he's a character made by Smiling Friends creator Michael Cusack, originally as a neckbeard atheist caricature based on YouTube;;; you can see him in live action here (and briefly in one of the Smiling Friends episodes on Glep's tablet). and yes, that is actually Michael Cusack playing him 😂

one of my favorite things about rachel as a character is that when asked "dont you want your best friend to be happy" in the chaise and the city episode, she pauses for a moment because she, despite being as comically selfish as she is, does want her best friend to be happy and considered that she could stop interfering with her life even if it meant breaking apart their friendship as it was. of course then because its ycf and because she is who she is, she takes a different approach and (whether accidentally or not im not sure) pushes herself into sarahs dream and takes the form of a crying baby.. i think it really is a great way of showing that shes really just so dependent on sarah for her wellbeing and sarahs main job in life is to take care of her friend who has forced that role on her. rachel is well aware of what a bad influence and force she is in sarahs life but she figures that she is in a way a protector for sarah (and she can be at times, shes cheered her up when no one else could) and that they do just fine with each other and no one else. they both shelter each other in specific ways and just enable each other so much without even trying, so that left unbothered, the relationship could continue like that for years, and it had done so.... rachel embarrasses and harasses any potential threat (potential friend or partner) out of sarahs life and takes up all of her time by being hugely dependent on sarah for absolutely everything, in the process isolating sarah so deeply she has no chance to work on life skills like socializing with others, getting a job or working on a hobby that isnt partying.
