La Befana’s Broomstick

*YCN Submission 2016/2017

The brief: to create a small, unique Christmas gift that could be easily distributed. The solution had to celebrate the Fedrigoni paper range, Constellation. 

The outcome: I wrote the story of La Befana’s broomstick, a prequel to the story of La Befana. At the back of the pack, there is a net of her flying vehicle. Whilst the recipients build their broomstick, the Braille numbering system on the net encourages the audience to appreciate the textures of the paper and to inspire their inner child.

Making a GIF on premier pro was kind of easy as i just placed all my final storyboard posters in order with just seconds apart for the when you play the whole clip together it looks like a gif. i wanted to go out of my comfort zone to create a gif as i want to experience new things and widen my knowledge of different types of graphics.

Making improvements to the cartoon

I didnt really like the thickness of the outlines on the facial expressions as it looks a bit too messy so what i did was decresed the thickness of the outline and then redid the facial expressions. what i also did was flipped the smiley face so that it was facing in the right direction as it did look a bit odd. These were the final design.
