In a universe where Rex succeeds in his plan...
In order for Rex to win, there a couple things that would happen.
First off, Lucy can't end up in the Bin of Storajj. Since she's the one that rallied everyone, if she isn't there, everyone would give up. @malisonquill suggested that, when she gets knocked off the temple, she falls out of sight, not on top of Bianca's desk. Essentially, she falls into her own Undar...
Emmet ends up on Undar after Rex throws him there, so Rex wouldn't disappear. As we see from Emmet starting to 'brood' during the fakeout ending, this isolation really does work on him.
The thing is... Emmet knows Rex banished him down there. And he knows everyone else is trapped in the Bin of Storajj. He knows no one is coming to save him, not because they don't care about him, because they're trapped too...
He'd become like Rex. He has to in order to escape Undar. He'd let his anger change him, not to get revenge on his friends for abandoning him, but to get revenge on Rex himself for causing all this. Emmet is warped by his anger and betrayal with Rex, not his friends. He becomes just as twisted and hardened as him, but denies all the while that they're anything alike, because he's going to STOP Rex, he's nothing like him, he can't be anything like him...
He'd avoid anything that makes him look like Rex. He stays neatly groomed, shaves daily, keeps his hair styled carefully, wears bright colors... but, well. There are some similarities you can't shake, no matter what efforts you make to look different.
