Taking a Walk in the Woods After Having Taken a Walk in the Woods with You
Ilya has, in fact, been reading The New Yorker. It's not all think pieces and literature. There's also poetry.
That awkward moment when your boss sees your hongjoong lockscreen and asks if he’s your boyfriend and you panic and say “kinda” even though you’re a lesbian and he says it must be serious if he’s your lockscreen and you just laugh awkwardly
Daily reminder bitches, Baz gave Simon’s tail a fucking handjob no problem and then turned into a big idiot sad baby over dry humping later
oh boy ho bot
Lucifer OC Start
Chloe Decker was quite a practical person. She liked working out the answer to every question, which was a very useful trait to have when investigating murders, and she would become increasingly frustrated when she couldn’t work it out. That’s why, from the outside, her relationship with Lucifer seemed bizarre. After all, he was an enigma of metaphors and strange declarations that didn’t seem to have an answer that no one, not even her, could work out.
Truthfully, the frustration she felt fuelled her. She loved being completely stumped on a question, she couldn’t think of anything else and she absolutely loved having someone in her life that couldn’t quite fit into the boxes that made up her life. It was exciting, and therefore so was he.
Still, in the mass of contradictory ideas that was her life, as she stepped out of the elevator into Lucifer’s apartment, the lavishness of it both confused her and intrigued her. A lot of his apartment didn’t seem to have much of a purpose, which was how she would personally decorate. However, it was so quintessentially him that it caused her to smile slightly just at the thought.
And think about how many surfaces she didn’t want to sit on. That was always a small concern for her.
Lucifer, he said, wasn’t too far behind her but she was checking her watch before the elevator had time to close behind her. She hoped he wouldn’t be too long.
She looked up and started at the sight of a woman. Not it was particularly unusual to find a woman she didn’t know around Lucifer, she just hadn’t been sure that he had been bringing them back, and definitely not when he was sending her up to his apartment to wait for him.
“Oh,” she said, wondering if Lucifer actually knew she was up there at all. She decided, very quickly, to not act like she was an intruder. “Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was up here.”
The woman, for a moment, didn’t even acknowledge what she was saying. She was looking out of the window, staring at the city below them, until she turned. Her eyes narrowed slightly at Chloe, then widened as if in shock. “Are-are you talking to me?” she asked.
She was British. Of course she was British. “Who else would I be talking to?” she asked in reply. “Are there more of you?”
The woman took a couple of steps towards her and Chloe, out of instinct took a couple back. The woman didn’t look particularly like Lucifer’s type – for a start, she seemed to be fully dressed. And quite conservatively dressed, at that. She definitely didn’t belong in the nightclub downstairs.
“You are talking to me,” she continued. “Bloody hell, can you see me?”
Chloe couldn’t help but frown. “Yes,” she drawled out slowly. “Why? Oh! Are you two playing some kind of hide and seek game? Have-Have I walked into a sex game?”
The woman looked just as confused as she felt. “Hide and…” she repeated slowly before shaking her head. She rushed forward again and Chloe’s hand went straight to her belt. “No, please, I just need your help. Please tell him I’m here.”
“I’m not his secretary,” Chloe replied without thinking. The elevator pinged behind her. “Tell him yourself.”
Lucifer stepped out of the elevator, fixing up his cuff links. “Sorry, detective, she would just not take no for an answer, and who am I to deny anyone what they want?” he said, slightly smug. He paused though, mid step, as he noticed her stance. “Everything alright?”
“Just talking to your friend, here,” Chloe replied, nodding to the woman, who immediately deflated.
“Oh, this is going to be tedious,” she drawled.
“My friend?” Lucifer asked, looking towards the window where she was also looking. “Detective, are you feeling quite alright? Perhaps you’ve been burning the candle at both ends, and not in the fun way.”
“I’m fine,” she dismissed. “So you don’t know her?”
He reached out and pressed the back of his hand against her head. “You don’t feel feverish,” he declared. “Did you have a drink downstairs? Perhaps off someone you didn’t know?”
“What? No, of course not,” she retorted, batting his hand away. “You don’t seem surprised that she’d here.”
“Detective,” he started, gently, like he was worried about her and she really didn’t like his tone at all. “There’s no one here but us.”
“I’m not playing a game with you right now, Lucifer,” she scolded. “She’s right there.”
She motioned to the woman, who smiled slightly. “He can’t see me,” she explained. “No one can see me but you, love. And I have to admit, Detective, that was an angle I didn’t see coming.”
Chloe’s eyes widened in her own sudden concern about her own mental well being. Maybe Lucifer wasn’t playing any games. Maybe it was her own brain that was. “Detective,” he tried again and she looked up at him. He seemed genuinely concerned for her. “Maybe I should take you home.”
She shrugged him off. “I told you, I’m fine,” she dismissed, heading towards the elevator. She needed time to process the fact that she was obviously hallucinating and she didn’t want him fawning over her whilst she did. “Come on, they found another body. We don’t have time to hang around while you flirt.”
He watched her for a moment, before sighing in resignation and following her. “Whatever you say,” he murmured.
Chloe met the gaze of the other woman as the doors closed in front of him. “Please, tell him I’m here,” she begged. “Please!”
I for real don’t get the logic behind asking girls to smile. Like??? Why? Who even really gives a shit???? How does that matter in the grand scheme of things???
