Only young cats get run over? Tell that to the sweet 16 year old cat whose body I sat with at the roadside for an hour waiting for her owner to come home.
I've also known kittens as young as 10 weeks get run over and killed cause their owner thought it was fine to let them out, and every age in-between. Doesn't matter how 'street smart' a cat is, if something spooks it and it runs in front of a car it's getting flattened.
There's never a point in a cat's life where it learns to cross the road safely. I want to know where they got that idea that adult cats are somehow much safer. Probably their ass
