OURRGHHHHH I LOVE SANJI AND ZEFF'S RELATIONSHIP. There's the whole play of "tough love" they have going on but every "you old geezer" and "damn brat" is dripping with so much affection i cantttt. AND THEN SANJI'S DEPARTURE. OUGHHHH. He keeps a straight face UNTIL Zeff says "take care of yourself." He could've said anything in that moment and sanji would've had the exact same reaction, but he chooses the gentlest words he can because it's so obvious that he's fond of him. "I hate kids. Never liked em." and it's filled with so much fondness as he's looking right at HIS kid. Sanji is his son idc. Raising him, willing to lose his life for him, encouraging him to chase his dream. Maybe a part of him chose those words because he wanted Sanji to leave with the memory of him being kind, but it really didn't matter because Sanji would have always thought of him as kind and loving regardless. He felt like he owed his life to that restaurant so as his last show of love Zeff lets him go to free him from that final burden. And when Sanji cries he looks JUST like his younger self. And then Zeff cries, but only when Sanji TURNS to him. Redfoot Zeff, the greatest pirate on the East Blue, the pirate who made it so close to the grand line is brought to tears not because of wealth, not because he fulfilled his purpose, but because of the boy who also wanted to see the All Blue. Sanji is his son and Zeff is Sanji's father IDCCC
