Hello! Since it is summer, and we are all bound to go out and have fun... I am gonna do so. I'm leaving home to go visit family, and family friends.

I think I'll be out at least 2 weeks, but that remains to be seen. But there's a queue set up and everything. I'll try to get my hands on any wifi I can, so I can pop around, and see the Comic Con madness and everything!

Why there is such a knee-jerk reaction to popular ships...

Cos I really feel like this needs saying...

So the really huge ships like Merthur, Destiel, Johnlock etc. are all over tumblr and people who don't ship them tend to get really pissed off about it, myself included. But it's not because the shippers are disrespectful or mean or the ship itself is bad.

It's like this...

Imagine you are a Buddhist and you live in a town where it's like 20% Christian, 10% Atheist, 15% Agnostic, 20% Muslim, 10% Sikh, 15% Hindu, 10% other... there are so many other beliefs and it's a pretty even spread. Now you spend most of your time ranting about how awesome your religion is and you can't believe other people don't follow your religion because yours is so awesome, but actually you do respect everyone's right to believe what they want.

Now imagine you are a Buddhist and you live in a town where it's like 90% Christian and 10% other... there are other beliefs, and you're allowed to believe what you want, but SO MANY PEOPLE believe in one particular religion it's pretty overwhelming at times. You can't get away from it - everywhere you go, there's someone talking about God, there are Christian posters everywhere, there are groups and schools and churches everywhere and sometimes it feels like you're the only one who isn't in that religion...

Now they also talk about how they can't believe you don't follow their religion because theirs is so great, and even though you say the exact same thing in jest, it pisses you off because EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE IS SAYING IT.

Well that's what it's like when you don't ship a really popular ship...

So there is nothing wrong with shipping a popular ship. But this is why everyone gets pissed off about it - because we feel outnumbered and because there are so many of you it feels like it's being shoved in our face wherever we go...
