What does the IMF do when they’re drawn into the public eye too soon? They make a movie to cover it up, of course. In the wake of the Hendricks mission, Ethan Hunt finds his team bruised, bloodied, and quite the worse for wear mentally. It’s probably not the best time to tell them about their new mission—to act out the events of their most harrowing mission yet in a sanitized play-by-play for the big screen. They’ve been spies, informants, honeypots, shadows, assassins. They’re about to be actors, too.
