The End? - Beginning

note: just a few more parts. then i’m done with the main story.

You get five blocks away from the building - which was smaller than you thought and closer to a more developed town than Sleepy Peak - when Cj starts slipping into habits. You don't notice it at first, wondering aloud, "How far did they take us?"

"From where?" Her voice is cold. You make a mental note.

"Sleepy Peak. The camp? Cj, do you remember where that is?"

"No. It has mountains though, right? So that's at least a hundred miles."

"What the fuck-" You take a breath. Cj doesn't need the added stress. You look around as Cj guides you through an area you've never seen, but she looks comfortable. 

The streets are clean and a lot of people are walking around. It was quiet though, and it held a peace you'd never seen before. 

(Connor would like this, you think, but immediately shove that line of thinking down.)

(You don't like thinking about him.)

Cj leads you down an alley and takes a right, stopping at an abandoned building. "If we go to the roof, we'll be able to see everything for two miles."

You don't like how her voice changed. So as she leads you through the building and keeps you from tripping over debris, you start talking, "Do you remember..."
