“That’s a great plan, but what they don’t have a plan for is how they’re going to do it without impact and damage to existing residents and how they are going to maintain the communities as safe places to live,” she said in an interview with Postmedia Thursday. (Link➡️ https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/proposed-river-valley-gondola-business-case-to-go-before-council) One thing I’ve noticed with #yegcc Planning and Development is they are great in planning but not the execution. The city annexed land to the detriment of mature neighbourhoods. Most mature neighborhoods were built around big events such as WWII or the oil booms. There are many things that need to be dealt with when doing infil; the biggest concerns are that the projects are built to close to the property lines. There is actual math involved as to how the house to land works. Also how does the project affect the infrastructure? Such as waste management, sewage, CEPTED, etc. Who thought it was a good idea to build not 1 but 2 big apartment buildings when the sewage system needed to be upgraded? It was difficult to deal with the sewage smell. We need to get this right. Hopefully the next #yegcc will get it tight. https://www.instagram.com/p/CnkASrPJ1J9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
